Kaguya-sama season 2 just finished airing, and while it isn’t as heavy as you would expect when you hear “psychological” it still technically has that tag soooo...

When I first watched season 1 I had no idea what to expect (all I knew from the show was the Chika dance) but I was instantly drawn in by the Death Note style battles that the 2 main characters have over basically nothing. That combined with the over the top animation, music, and voice acting made it one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched.

Season 2 kind of loses the focus on the battles between Miyuki and Kaguya but it makes up for that with the election and Ishigami tries to become a normie arcs. It also still has the extremely exaggerated scenarios that made season 1 funny.

Behind the comedy there is also some intense drama. So far we’ve just seen Kaguya’s struggles as an extremely rich child, Ishigami’s struggles to fit in with his peers, and some stuff with Miko’s desire to make school more disciplined. These drama elements elevated this show from just really funny to one of my favorites of all time.

As I said at the start this show isn’t what you think of when you hear “psychological” but I think it’d still be nice to hear what other people think about it, since it’s one of my favorites.

I also love the show, when the 2nd season had it's serious moments they were just as good funny ones. In my opinion you start see the psychological theme more in the intense moments. When Ishigami goes through all that unfortunate drama at school. He has alot of stuff going through head like " I did nothing wrong so screw that jerk I can't write the apology letter". He spends alot of time in his head with his emotions and comes to a conclusion. Also it's "war" from our point of view watching, we're always inside someone's head hearing what's going on and it's amazing.

There's more I want to say but can't phrase it right. I hope it makes sense lol.

Yeah I get what you're saying. I guess my idea of "psychological" is more like psychological horror such as what you would see in stuff like Perfect Blue or Higurashi. But yeah I still love Kaguya-sama
