Hello! I'm having a hard time finishing an anime at the moment coz I can't seem to get hooked on any so I put them on hold. Please recommend me your favorite anime, I don't care about the genre but I would appreciate it if it is not too old (coz I get that some people's favorites are old ones coz there are a lot of old masterpieces), something that's available on HD would be nice.

If you can also give me a gist of it and why it is your favorite, I would very much appreciate it.

Please revive my love for binging anime.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
After giving our shared anime list a good look, it's clear to see that we share similar ranks on series with overall difference being only 0.46...
Now that's what you call a good match haha

Okay, here are the best ones, for more visit my profile/list/inbox

However there are plenty more of must-watch series with a score of 9 or even 8 out there!

K A T - Legenda Zza Światów - wstęp:
W dawnych czasach, które już niemal całkowicie przeminęły, magia i posługujące się nią istoty,
a także zaklęte stwory i złowrogie, nieokiełznane bestie
zamieszkiwały Zza Światy, pomiędzy którymi można było odbywać podróże.

Wielcy bohaterzy musieli stawać do walki ze złem, w obronie dobra,
by przezwyciężyć zagrażające równowadze mroczne widmo ciemności i chaosu

Oto legenda jednego z nich…

I recommend Natsume Yuujinchou, Hajime no Ippo (it's old but the animation is smooth), Cross Game, Chihayafuru.

Favorite TV series:
Maria-sama ga Miteru
This is from mid 2000's (don't know what "old" is for you). It has 4 seasons. It's became my fav TV series due to the setting, writing, feels, voice acting and group of characters. No one thing really stands out (the writing I suppose) but put all together it's provided me with so many great moments.
Character Chart (it really helps keeping the names straight for the first few episodes)
Sample Them Feels

Favorite OVA:
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku-hen -- It's from 1999 but the graphics still hold up fine. Excellent OST, decent story. Some scenes still hit hard even 10 years and many re-watches later.

Favorite Movie:
Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu -- Excellent production values (graphics & music). OST is my all-time fav. NOTE: this movie is a sequel to the TV series. You need to watch the TV series first.

The Haruhi franchise has a cool plot/situation for a high school anime. It was crazy popular when it was airing (I wasn't into anime then but it would have been something to experience). Top notch voice acting. Kyoto Animation 'nuff said.

Rounding out my other top 10's:

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 -- Glorious re-make of the '70's classic. Booming orchestral OST. Great mix of young and old characters. Credible antagonists.

Girls und Panzer -- The show that got me back into anime. It's cute, it's hilarious, the tanks are accurate. It's just a fun romp from start to finish. The movie sequel is great too (theaters were packed in Japan and BD sales went nuts).

So Ra No Wo To -- Looks like K-On! girls in military uniforms but it's so much more. Starts off innocent and fun but gets more dramatic near the end. Really nice visuals. OST is one of the best, in my top 3 for OST's. Great cast and voice acting.

Wolf Children -- 2nd fav movie. Cute kids, touching story, awesome graphics.
Cute!

We already share Toradora and Nodame Cantabile. Legend of the Galactic Heroes would fall under your "too old" list but you should still watch it because it's not about the graphics with that show but more about the events. And as far as I'm concerned it still has the best character designs even today. At least watch the prequel movie and decide for yourself. It's only 59 minutes: watch it now (that's an order :)

Bakemonogatari will forever be my favorite - I suppose my love for it is purely based off of bias though, and it is a bit difficult to get into if you don't like it's style.

My favorite anime has to be Tokyo Ghoul. I love how it takes an innocent MC and puts him through horrible events to make him a sort of anti-hero. You can tell That the goals are pure, but the way that they go about doing it is questionable.

Bungou Stray Dogs is one of my favorites - the story is basically about a detective agency made up of people with superhuman abilities, who solve crimes and protect the city from Port Mafia, an underground network of people who also have superhuman abilities.

The plot sounds somewhat generic for an anime, but I promise you it's worth checking out. It's the perfect mix of intense action scenes and comedy, similar to Noragami.

I like the idea of it and the visuals look promising. Thanks for your recommendation, I'll check it out.

Hunter x Hunter 2011. Keep in mind that you might not get hooked in the first 5 or so eps though, but after that and especially after the hunter exam arc it gets really good. Some people get discouraged when they see it has 148 eps and if you do too watch it when you have the time, just don't drop it. It's really worth it.

I've been hearing good things about it but it is pretty long but I'll make sure to check it out in the future when I have time. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it is a masterpiece coz very few anime gets 9 above on MAL but it may be too old for me and too long but I'll still try to watch it when I have time. Thanks.

This is a nice looking list. I've been wanting to watch Haruhi Suzumiya series for a while now, I might check that out first. Also, Wolf Children I've come across this a few times while looking for good movies but I heard it is pretty emotional and I'm still recovering from Clannad After Story which I've finished recently too haha but I'll check it out. Thanks for your recommendations.

Finished everything including re manga haha thanks for the recommendation though and you're right it is pretty good although the re anime almost feels like only manga readers would understand and appreciate coz they've been skipping so much, but the manga was pretty good overall.

Steins;gate - the first piece of fiction that left me with a genuine feeling of emptiness once I finished. Amazing characters and an even greater story

Assassination Classroom S1 + 2 - Had great fun with this. You'll laugh, you'll get hype, you'll cry

Hunter x Hunter - My favourite shounen

I also see that you haven't watched season 2 and 3 of Shokugeki no Souma. I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and you'll definitely get invested again ^^

Girls last tour is for an even nicher audience and a lot of people found it boring but I found it refreshing that it managed to fully avoid the problems of its genre.
