I just finished watching Youjo Senki and I was wondering if anybody has any similar animes in terms of the military/war aspect!?

Overlord is probably the nearest you will get to Tanya. Similar anti hero and military aspects. GATE has war/military but very different characters though Rory Mercury kinda gets off on a good battle.

Well The character of Tanya felt like MC of Code Geass to me. And the war animes are Arslan Senki, Madan Ou to Vanadis, Angolmoisn and Most probably Kingdom may be. There are also a lot of other war animes.

If you're looking for a good military/war anime check out Golden Kamuy. It's set post war but features many military veterans. Yes, the bear is rendered horribly but please look past it because trust me it gets better and the characters and story more than make up for a few terrible bears (shown mainly at the beginning). Also, they just announced its getting a 3rd season so the story is just getting started.

Overlord feels so bland to me,

Black Lagoon isn't anything alike but it's really good.
