The web novel where this show is based on has 1728 chapters.

First season is the first 300 chapters (a lot of parts were skipped.)

This current OVA (3 episodes) is the All Star weekend arc, from chapter 300 to 350 ish.

Season 1 and this OVA is done by two different studios.

Yes it wasn't hard to notice the difference in the drawing style.. What do you like best, the anime or the novel? (only if you've read the novel of course)

The web novel, is by far better. A lot more detailed. The best thing about TKA is the world building and the humor. Kinda lost in the anime.

The implementation of the first episode of the 2018 ONA seems really good in terms of general quality, but if you compare the whole animated series of quan zhi gao shou/TKA to the novel, then it's not even a competition, the novel is BY FAR better by a HUGE margin, the disparity between the novel and the ONA is even greater than the disparity of the one piece manga to the one piece anime and in the case of one piece the disparity is already enormous

Of course novel
but anime was a very welcome addition ,especially for battle scene
It also help for image training , to enjoy the novel better

personally I thought this novel was hard to adapt it especially in-game things
the details will become a bit too long winded for anime watcher if they did not skip over
I wish they explore more of pro player though , like WangJiexi and Gao Ying Jie relationship , Tang Hao and Ling Jing Yan too
