The manga seems to have stopped abruptly at a side story in Chapter 67 where we learn the origin story of the senpai girl who always shuts her eyes and then nothing after that.

Did the TL team die or something? The story was just starting to become interesting too

I am not completly sure if it is related. But here is what I remember. After the Kannagi anime broadcast some years ago. I was a big fan of it as well. The manga (written and drawn by a female mangakan) abruptly ended because a male character showed up who was related somehow to holy goddess Nagi. Suggesting a possible relationship. So otakus where annoyed with it. And the sales dropped. It might be that the translation team has also dropped it after that. It is sad but it's a common mistake done by mangakans. You just cannot do that.

are you perhaps referring to Ozuma? He was introduced in like chapter 50 as Nagi's other love interest but in the later chapters it was revealed he was just Nagi's old friend from the past.

If thats the reason the manga died then seriously wtf japan

Kannagi was originally licensed and published in English by Bandai Entertainment, who released 4 volumes and subsequently shut down in 2012. Meanwhile, the manga went on hiatus. After it resumed, no one picked up the U.S. publishing rights (so far), and combining the fact that a lot of scanlating groups don't pick up licensed titles and because people generally lost interest (hiatus was pretty long) we'll be lucky if anyone ever bothers to finish it, be it an official translation or a fan one. Sad :/

To be fair, the author had to deal with a LOT of shit. Allegedly, some fans were outraged after it was revealed that Kannagi was "not a virgin" (lolwut). Having to undergo surgery due to health complications and having the town of Miyagi (the model for the town in Kannagi, where the author's parents lived) destroyed by tsunami certainly didn't help. I consider it a proof of her iron will that mangaka finished the story at all. Good job!
