| Chapters essentially come out when they're finished, and it takes a lot of time because the author puts in as much detail as possible. However there's something more to that hazardous "schedule." For some reason Takeshobo, the manga's editor only releases chapters on the 10th, 20th or 30th of the month. For example, if the author is done with a chapter on april 5, it will be released on april 10. Next chapter (46) is probably coming out on april 10 while the previous one was released on February 20. |

It's quite big for a coincidence. |

I think those are just concidences Check the Made in Abyss subreddit, the stickied FAQ states the same thing; it isn't a coincidence. |

Greeks said: Thanks Beyond. That was in march, so the only question is "how late is <<late>> for the author". Today is the legendary 20th of the month, I don't have big hopes but maybe...? Why oh why I listened to that podcast few days ago, now I'm stuck with "ongoing"... When an author who's, ironically, late on a regular basis for a monthly series says he will be late, it means a long wait. The last time he was "late" was for chapter 43 which took 4-5 months to be released, partly because he was involved with the anime's production at the time. So basically we just have to pray that it comes before the end of time and hope that the chapter is worth the wait. |
