So that arguement is silly. Who cares what has more bad stuff? What era do you feel like has the most things you like, and the things you like the most? Of course bad things always exist, but if 2016 has 5 shows you gave an 8/10, and 2 you gave a 9/10, while 2015 only has 5 7/10s and 1 8/10, you liked 2016 more, bad shows be damned.
He is implying that both era has bad shows in them. That is why it doesn't matter. It all comes down to preference.

Nha it's just an non argument to post something without actually discussing anything

@electrondance Kind of deleted that. I just am not in the mood to make arguments after transferring to a new place.

there is pretty much no difference between pre 2010 or 2005 anime and the ones that came after. Unless you go back to like pre-2000 stuff the separation really doesn't make any sense. Putting Monster in the old anime pile and Death note in the new anime pile when there is no signficant difference in how they were made just seems arbitrary and random. For two categories to exist there should be a fundamental difference between them, like cel animation vs cgi-assisted animation which started around 2000 but drawing the line in 2005 or 2010 just makes no sense to me. There is no actual reason to separate anime before or after that. It's like drawing the line between spring and summer of this year and arbitrarily calling shows old or new based on that. Nobody would think of it like this until someone pulls this imaginary line of separation out of their ass.
I probably regret this post by now.

2006 and 2007 is pretty good and 2011 and 2012. Maybe they could be classified as old.

Which is better new animes or old animes, and why?
By old animes I mean before 2010 or 2005.
I'm not sure myself if new ones are better than old ones or vice vera.

I cant help but lean toward the old anime, they had a lot worse graphics unless hand drawn which takes a lot of time so they had to rely heavier on the story to capture the audience instead of throwing gratuitous amounts of fanservice in place of a plot and calling it good.

I guess old animes on average are probably better because they're usually not in a rush to finish what the manga is showing. The anime market was probably not as competitive. So we don't see anything being rushed.

New animes have better animation, but are always rushed to fit into a season.

I can't say that I prefer classic or current anime more. I enjoy anime today just as much as those that I've watched years ago.

When you define "old" as before 2010, damn!

It seems that late '90 and early '00 anime suits my taste the best.

Looking at my list, it seems like One Piece (1999) is the oldest anime I've watched. I don't really think one's better than the other because every time period has its up and down. But the only personal preference I have is I like the look of newer anime more than older ones. I know that because it's one of the more pettier reason I held back One Piece because of the old art look (glad I watched it though).
