Should I read Negima?

I know that the story is different but still have connection to negima. I know UQ Holder before knowing Negima, let alone knowing that it's a "sequal" story to Negima.

But, in order to grasp the character more or for another reason you can tell me, do I need to read Negima? Is it worth reading?

I actually kinda sad when first time reading UQ Holder, and now even sadder knowing in that 80 years, her (yukihime) comrades including negi were already dead (i pressumed), leaving yukihime alone from negi's main cast.

So I ask again, should I read Negima! in order to have more excitement and any other reason you can tell?

Yes, definitely. Alot of references are connected to Negima, including Tota’s powers and the origin of Magia Erebea

Yes, and yes!

I finished reading ALL 37 volumes of Negima! a few months back and definitely must say it's worth reading, though I honestly have no interest in UQ Holder!, so...
