I'm looking for sports anime that prioritizes the competition of the sport. I don't mind any length as long as I don't get bored half way through it.

The ones I've liked:
Kuroko No Basket
Haikyuu
Ping Pong The Animation
Prince Of Tennis

I've Tried:
Diamond No Ace (Got bored half way through)

I'm not looking for something like:
Free! (Don't want Slice of Life)
Yuri!!! On Ice (Too much fan-service)

I've heard that Hajime no Ippo and One Outs are worth checking out, but I haven't gotten around to them yet. Any thoughts or other recommendations would be appreciated!

I strongly recommend Hajime no Ippo, never felt bored watching it and you get hooked from the beginning

Chihayafuru is also very engaging, it's about a card game that is both physically and mentally demanding and the matches are really intense

How is the pace of Chihayafuru, it's tagged under Slice of Life, so I wasn't sure.

I've seen Redline already, and really like it. Yowamushi Pedal looks like it would be entertaining!

Oooohhhh, I didn't know Hikaru no Go had an anime, I've read the manga, and really liked it, so I'll definitely watch that a some point. How much does Shion no Ou actually go into the sport, its seems more like a mystery from the summary.

I'm kinda unsure about starting another baseball anime after Diamond No Ace, is Major better?

Yeah, the cars don't look that great, but I'd be willing to give it a try if the plot makes up for it.

On Shion no Ou,

Shion's personal and professional growth is much more compelling than the mystery.

Well I haven't seen AoD but as far as I know, Major is significantly different. While AoD is another high school sports anime, Major goes through a few stages: kindergarten&elementary school, middle school, high school (first 3 seasons) and professional career (last 3 seasons + OVAs). I wouldn't dismiss it just because you disliked one baseball anime.

That actually sounds pretty nice, seeing characters develop over time is something I really enjoy watching
