Honestly, I've just finished reading the first light novel, and, well..it's awful, to say the least. I know light novels are meant to be easy and fast to read, but hell, as much as I had a bit of fun with it, its difficult to even try to fit it on rational criticism. I started reading the novels more because I was eager to know more of the story and couldn't wait for the (now forsaken) third season. As you said, it reads like an anime (or some fanfic) but visual comedy differs a lot from the written thing. Also, there's a lot of gags they added in the anime, like the chants Megunin utters before sending everything to hell.

I think you read volume 1 and feels bored because you already know what happened, maybe you should jump to later vols after anime end and see if it feels different. Btw Im wondering how many LN have you read, if you read stuff like Mahouka or NGNL, your brain probably explode. Konosuba is one of the best LN for beginner, if you cant read it, it's just not for you I afraid

It is not that it was boring(it wasn't), it was just bad, like when you're watching a movie and you're having mindless fun but you know it isn't good. I am more used to reading novels, but even compared with the very few LNs I've read (like Bake and Zero no Maria) the Konosuba style is rather off. I agree with the author when he says that he is not a very good writer. At least it is better than the Kizu and Toradora LNs.
I've never read the ones you mentioned.

I'm not just referring to the art style, but the animation style too. Everything moved so much, it was alive and fun. Some series may look pretty but still be boring in comparison to KonoSuba because of boring animation, like Charlotte and DanMachi.

You say this but you know...Not everyone can read Japanese. Also Im pretty sure the Light novels haven't caught up enough to the latest volumes.

People like me can only rely on waiting for newer volumes or the anime for further material
