| I don't think there's a single one they would like. We pretty much have an agreement that I don't share my tastes with them and keep out of site and out of mind that I like something they don't. And don't talk unless it's about something we like such as American Idol(which I don't have much in common with them, so we don't talk about media). And the only time the such is bridged is for them to come in and say something I like is horrible and give disapproval about whatever it is I'm enjoying in life at the time. So we never talk about anime. And I fear ever having any conversations about it. Luckily they will just give irritable disapproval and just try to pressure me into stop doing whatever it is that makes me happy anymore. When I was a teenager I had to literally disobey my parents, sneak the tape they had taken away from me back to my room in the middle of the night, and watch it. All because it showed Motoko's boobs. I kept trying to convince my parents it was a good show with a good story that was highly rates, and I got the response "shut up, turn off this un-Christian filth, don't talk back, and never watch or bring this horrible stuff into this house again." There's a reason I want Christianity to die in a fire. |

My dad showed a lot interest in Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Tears to Tiara and Gundam SEED, to the point of even asking what's happening. My mom used to watch Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho with us, but lost interest as the times passed by. Tried to get back with Romeo x Juliet, but lost interest cuz of the flying horses. Both my parents absolutely love Miyazaki's movies. My mom was the one who went and bought Totoro for us after seeing it the first time, took us to see Ponyo twice when it was released in US theaters, bawled her eyes out with me during Grave of the Fireflies, and requests to watch Howl's Moving Castle or Laputa on her birthday every year. :) She also used to watch Pokemon with my siblings and I when we were obsessed with it, haha. She fell asleep during Natsume Yuujinchou , but she has expressed interest in watching Kanon or Air with me sometime. And even though it isn't anime, both of my parents love Avatar: The Last Airbender as well. Especially my dad. :) |
