LOL-- no worries, it's not creepy at all!! :D And yep, Amatsuki just keeps on being awesome! I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all turns out (only 20-something more chapters to go now). :)
MangaRocks May 31, 2016 5:53 PM

IKR??? :D :D Over these past few months, I've been watching the chapter numbers get closer and closer to the end of what the previous translator had done, and when I just looked today and noticed that they finally posted the next chapter, I was just about jumping for joy!!! :D (...Now I just have to go reread the previous few chapters first to remember what the heck was going on in the story two years ago, LOL...... :P Not like I mind, though, of course~ ;D ) *goes off to read~* :D :D :D

Oh wow you're alive that's cool how did you mission go? I like fell off the face of the animu planet while you were gone orz

Yeah, I'm really enjoying it! :) Even though it's going to take a while for me to get anywhere near fluent, of course, it's well worth it (and has actually been surprisingly fun so far, too, thanks to the resources I'm using! :) ). As for the kanji: Well, by the time I know enough of them to start attempting to read stuff raw, I'm hoping that a lack of furigana won't be much of an issue (since the place I'm learning kanji from uses mnemonics in combination with radicals to teach you to remember each kanji's meaning and most-common reading{s} without the help of furigana when they test you), Amatsuki is so complex (and, I would imagine, also includes lots of deeper/secondary/etc. meanings with different kanji) and has so many connections to certain historical stuff, etc. that it might be a bit of a challenge even then. (^_^;) I'd still like to try at some point, though, once I've learned more. :)

Also, this is the first and only foreign language I've ever studied yet, so right now my only choices are just English or Japanese, LOL. In your case, though, yeah, I'd probably say to go ahead and just grab the French versions if that's easier for you. :)

As for importing: Well, to tell the truth, I've actually imported very little yet (which reminds me that I really need to save up so I can-- there's a bunch of anime/game/etc. OST's I want that aren't currently on iTunes here, and some currently-unlicensed art books, and some other currently-unlicensed manga and novel series like Amatsuki and a bunch of Ryohgo Narita's stuff {among others}, and even some currently-unlicensed games and anime once I'm fluent enough to understand them properly, etc. etc. etc.-- my list of stuff to import is already way too long, LOL! (^_^;) )... the only things that I can really say I've imported so far are some piano books (from a store that has now closed, to my eternal disappointment! :( ) and some figures (only one of which was a direct import, and that straight from the figure company's site itself). I really do want to import more (so, so much more! (^_^;) ), but it's expensive no matter what store is used, so I have to plan it out carefully, LOL. To answer your question, though, the import sites I've looked stuff up on and (eventually :P :) ) plan to get said stuff through are Amazon Japan, CDJapan (which does carry more than just music despite its name, LOL), and AmiAmi. :)

And WOW, Amatsuki is 10 years old? O.O A very Happy Anniversary to the series (and the mangaka, and everyone who enjoys reading it!), indeed!! :D

Ah! Okay, I looked through those chapters again just now, and indeed--
MangaRocks Jul 14, 2014 9:23 PM
Wow-- that is absolutely wonderful!! God is awesome!!! :)

Amatsuki: Indeed. :)

Artbook: Oh man, yes, I heard that, too, and I'm also quite excited. This mangaka's beautiful art... <3 <3

And you are very welcome indeed-- thanks for talking about it with me, too!! :)

The mission: Wow-- that sounds amazing!! :) I'm glad it was such a fantastic experience!

And Amatsuki:

I love this series so much! <3

Yay, you're back! :) How did your mission go?

And oh my goodness yes, these past few volumes... my heart... <3 <3

...Oh, and also my head, LOL-- how about those character revelations?!

I feel the same way about Gino. He is kind of a jerk but he was definitely my favorite character. I didn't like it as much as Oofuri or Chihayfuru (my high bar for sports shows which are admittedly very high bars) but it was excellent and reminds me how great sports anime are and why I need to find more of them, because even the worst one I've seen, Kuroko, could be very entertaining in a different way. How far have you read past the Osaka match? Or does the manga get that far?

Oh wow, that is an excellent figure. Actually, truth be told I've never bought a figure or any non-DVD product other than my Summer Wars poster. The whole idea is a little strange to me but I wonder if I'd get obsessive with it if I had the disposable income/was living by myself.

I think I'll wait until the anime hits up to where I left off, which shouldn't take too long at the pace they're going at. Or maybe I'll just do it once I'm caught up on all the shorter things I mean to either read or left behind when I stopped reading manga this summer. I know I want to catch up on Assassination Classroom and I think I've missed a couple chapters of Sengoku Youko but I can't think of anything else, so I'll probably start on that soon.

By the way, I saw Shingeki no Kyojin on your on-hold list and I was curious what you're thinking of it. Other than Yotsuba it's my favorite manga that's still running so naturally I'm curious what my friends think of it.

I started Mushishi again but then I realized this was my only chance to watch Giant Killing before CR's license expired, so I decided to go through it first. It actually kind of makes me sad that it is expiring, because it'll be harder to recommend it to others. It's not Oofuri levels of good but it is reminding me why sports shows are awesome. The two episodes I did see of Mushishi were excellent, though made me feel kind of dumb because I can't quite grasp what they're saying.

I'm not seeing any figure in the picture, are you sure you uploaded the right one? You've reminded me that now that I'm reading manga again I need to jump back on catching up to Magi; a daunting task now that it is about 40 chapters longer than when I started it.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
