murderers in kindaichi shounen no jikenbo returns

just like detective conan kindaichi shounen no jikenbo is full of murderers that had sympathetic backstories that killed their perpetrators, and though I understand their sadness I still cannot understand why people had to do such thing as murder, I honestly feel sorry for them despite being murderers.
Am I a good person?

They did wrong, but usually victims are not so good either (blackmailing by using murderer weakness such as high status via job, doctor etc or doing something else to gain profit)

I feel sorry for them, to be so weak and use easiest / fastest option for them to solve their problems, and not to take contact with detectives or police.
