Cowboy Bebop Box Set English Subtitles

Hi all,

I own the Perfect Sessions Limited Edition DVD 3-Disc Box Set (Region 2 - UK) and I usually watch CB with English audio.

One thing that has always bugged me is the English subtitles don't match the English audio. Does anyone know if any of the other box set versions - Amazon.co.uk currently has a 2014 box set (white cover with pencil drawing characters, Ed reaching out of the frame) for example - have correct subtitles?

The subs are for the Japanese audio. They don't normally sub the English audio. It's a different translation and it would require extra work and it's easier to leave it's it is.

Normally people using English subs over English audio are people who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, so it wouldn't be an issue.

So to answer your question, No. It's like that for almost all/if not all anime DVD's.

That's exactly my situation here: my partner is profoundly deaf and normally we watch anime with Japanese audio and English subs. However, CB is one of the few I prefer in English.

Unfortunately the English subs just don't do it justice though. We've started a rewatch so it still grates a bit. One to fansub though.
