| I have a lot of experience with the PS3 media player and these are the unique features I like: -Personal digital media can be stored on the hard drive (PS4 won't even let you dl proprietary vids it's all streaming) -1.5 fast forward! This saves a lot of time during slow parts of a video. You can still follow the audio along with the video it just speeds up. Now for the PS4 features I like: -Better Quality video playback (audio, video) -More supported video types (some mkv) -The obvious: stronger hardware for media programs like Plex etc. What I don't like about the PS4 is that fast forward and rewind is on L2 and R2. If I'm not careful when I put the controller down I'll lose my spot in the vid. I also don't like that it doesn't have the 1.5 fast forward or allow vids on the hard drive. Also I've had trouble with the media player not reading usb drives even though I put the vids in a folder. So, for those of you that use PS3 or PS4 media players a lot, tell me about your experience. Which do you like better? |
| I like the ps3 one better mainly because of the fast forward and rewind feature being more controllable. On the ps4 even if you just tap the R2 or L2 button it jumps like a minute, it's annoying if you just missed something and want to go back a few seconds. The only good thing on ps4 is that it supports mkv files. |
| I agree, The rewind and fast forward are much more convenient on PS3. Though, it's unfortunate. I'd like to phase out my PS3 eventually. I was hoping that someone would tell me I was missing some redeeming feature of the PS4 media player lol. |
