| ^bootleg copies and torrents dont count sir. 50 volumes + 20 season dvds would be approx ~2450usd (avg vol price @ $25 and season dvd @ $60) even with a 1/2 off sticker it would still be over $1000. Anything less, came from the mideast or hongkong bootleggers. I call BS :) And if its true... thats a wall full of dvd cases and thats comparable to something like this... ...doesn't that kind of suck since the advent of the 'new' Blu-Ray players? Well i am interested in seeing this collection for authenticity. None of your websites have pictures of your collection so me calling it BS is valid at the moment. Well back to topic. | The last anime I purchased was actually today and it was Howl's Moving Castle. Anime is very expensive most of the time (at least from what I've seen), but I got Howl's used so it was cheaper. Well worth it!!! |

And yes, official subs have the benefit of guaranteed trained translators, but they're not always great. They make silly mistakes at least as often as fansubbers, and they're not immune to awkward translations. Some R1 DVDs are prone to inferior video as well. Also, font complaints are a shitty reason to avoid DVDs. Fansubs have obnoxious karaoke. I don't mind the romaji(though having three different lines for English, phonic and kanji/kana lyrics covers way too much of the screen), but animating it is too much. |
