By looking at that pic, I thought it might be a foreshadowing about how many belts takamura is going to get. Takamura still needs to get belts for 4 weight classes, but there are 8 - 10 spaces where belts can be places. (maybe the last floor wont be used since it's not covered by a plank.)
So this might be foreshadowing that he might get some extra belts for some weight classes.
It was stated that Japan doesn't go for the WBO and IBF belts. but there are currently japanese champions with those belts. so maybe he might get one of those. Most likely it won't, but you never know. So what do you guys think? for which weight class will he get some extra belts According to you guys?

I think its the opposite. I think its a heavy implying that he will retire earlier than planned.
One wing of his is broken.
Just think about how the panels were drawn and the bubbles were set. Kamogawa says "for now" you did well. And Takamura has a black shadow on his face which implies that is has a deep meaning. If it had been a foreshadowing for further wins the page would give a positive vibe instead of a deep one. And after that Takamura gets a whole panel without saying anything. I guess they were just saying things on the outside but were thinking the same on the inside. And then went through the positive crowd without saying anything.

If that is true, I think the super middleweight class will be his last weight class to conquer.
But it would seem sad and lame if we didnt get a look at the heavyweight champion.
Byt then again, he still has 4 weight classes to go, he is almost 30 and the series is slowly coming to a end.
So will he make it? is the big question.

I think Morikawa is realizing that he won't live forever and life is too short to make everything he wants to do in Ippo. I mean the only way to end takamura plot with 6 belts he need to fight one fight in each weight category. This manga is releasing for 26 years, this manga won't release forever, he needs to end it somehow and if he'll continue plot of every character, this manga will be twice longer. It's really hard to end this well. I think he'll concentrate more on Ippo now, probably we'll see 3-4 Ippo fights, about 2 Takamura fights, maybe Sendo vs Miyata, some Itagaki or someone else fights and that's it. With good idea he'll finish it in ~300-400 chapters. Anyway, I think that Takamura won't win all those titles, plot is too deep already to make it.
But I've got another theory, maybe Ippo will become world champ, then will be timeskip and 10 years later or something we'll see Takamura with all belts, that's pretty possible.

Well Takamura is conscious that he is invincible but his body is not a machine than can last forever. Bison did him a lot of damage and his leg is still not healed. And this is not a simple broken hand like Sendo but a crucial point in boxing if you have problems with your footwork.

In the end I believe Takamura will retire after the next world title as the invincible Takamura from Japan who didn't lose one match. That would still fit his proud and strong character without a letdown.

Aye, It's still sad looking back as he couldn't finish his dream to conquer all 6 weight classes.
IF Mori decides to do this (chance is pretty high since the series is starting to come to end)
I can see the Super middleweight champ being a complete monster.
The chance of him not completing it is about 50-60% I think personally.
But do you think takamura will still be alive at the end of the series?

If the Super Middleweight champ really is that kind of unreachable monster that not even Takamura has a chance against, then I believe it will be Takas last and final match where the match will conclude in either a double KO or a KO with one of them dying. Since many haven't seen or read Ashita no Joe I won't spoil anything but Morikawa took a lot of inspiration from AnJ so we might have a clue about the future of hippo in this old classic.

I'm still watching joe. But my time is occupied with a series that i promised @TheBlender to watch called NANA. And I was also really busy with berserk, Which is a masterpiece Btw.
But I really need to finish Joe soon since I think I can get a clearer view at hajime no ippo that way.
Anyway thanks for your replies Anokata

Ashita no Joe is one of the first manga I'll read after my current addiction. I just started HxH and now manga backs, lucky me. But yeah, AnJ is definitely must read for Ippo fan and I'll do it soon. @DarkAngel69 recommended me manga "Rikudou", it's also about boxing and looks really good, I think it's worth reading and it's still releasing.
