To be honest I'm the type of person who cares about the rating when planning to watch anime, nowadays I have run out of good anime in top 150. Since I watched many good stories, I don't care anymore about the rating and now I want to move on to anime with unique art style because many anime art nowadays are boooriing type with same moe faces and annoying voices. The things like Kill la Kill, Ping Pong, and Osomatsu

My favorite quotes from animes:

Those who seek miracles will never experience one. The hand of salvation only extends to people
who try to make miracles happen. - Ef a tale of melodies.
I destroy worlds. I create worlds. - Code geass
We are humans. - Shinsekai yori
100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10km run EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! - One punch man

adding
shinsekai yori (very atmospheric, but 2012 i think. story driven, slow start rly awesome later parT) (its also top 100) (futuristy utopian dystopian anime like psycho pass, but in a different direction)

spice and wolf (2010 i think and 2012. rly good adventure anime with nearly no action at all. its about a merchant who takes a wolf god to the north while trying to make profit on the way)

I did watch katanagatari until episode 2, and I think I need to be patient because the episodes are so long. I put it on my list when I finished watching. Thanks for the advice

My recommendations aren't between your demanded timelines but you definitely should give them a try.
Zetsubou Sensei
From SHAFT (studio of the Monogatari Series) and from the same director as well. Packed with comedy and SoL(not the RomCom style, this one is the real deal)

Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei

Oh and as for the beautiful sceneries I recommend Makoto Shinkai's works like Kotonoha no Niwa Go ahead and watch Dareka no Manazashi It should give you some insight about his style and it is only 6 minutes.

Thanks, I'll take Zetsubou sensei.
I already watch Tatami Galaxy (as one of my favorite) and Garden of Words.

Thanks for the AMV, I will try both. I think I can't judge the anime by only MAL cover

I'll go back to 2006 and suggest you watch "Bake Neko" and its sequel Mononoke. The latter streams at Crunchyroll.

From 2011, I'll suggest Hyouge Mono, which combines quite mature visages with over-the-top caricatures. The backgrounds are impressive as well. I wasn't much of a Bee Train fan, but this show changed my mind. Look at these representations of the main character, Sasuke: https://www.google.com/search?q=hyouge+mono+sasuke+image

I'm having a harder time with 2012. From that list I'd probably pick Psycho-Pass and Uchuu Kyoudai for the best adult characters, and Shinsekai yori for some spectacular scenery.

For 2013, I don't see anything that comes close to Kill la Kill. Uchouten Kazoku ("The Eccentric Family") from P.A. Works has a nice style, but not innovative like Imaishi's work in KlK.

For 2014, I'll suggest Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis. It's beautifully animated throughout. You could see that they had a big budget, as it teamed up cygames, who produces the highly-successful game on which the show is based, and NBCUniversal (aka "Comcast" to Americans). It has large epic battles with angels, demons, and Bahamut, but it also has lovely slice-of-life moments like this one:

Finally, for last year, again I have a hard time choosing. For pure visual beauty, Kyoto's Hibike! Euphonium is a strong contender, but it's a full-on moe show about girls joining a high-school concert band. Rokka no Yuusha looked good at times, but pretty variable. P.A. Works put all their love for anime into Shirobako, and it shows. The female characters have strong moe stylings, but that's balanced by the fact that they all adults. Even a potential moe target like "Goth Loli-sama" accurately appears as a woman in her mid-to-late twenties.

Stll, for pure visuals I might have to give the nod to the shoujo adaptation Akagami no Shirayuki-hime. It's about princes and commoners and castles and all that, and it's often just a delight to look at. Here's the castle by night with the heroine in the foreground:

BTW. I've often struggled with when to use "an." I usually use "a" when the leading vowel is voiced as it is in "unique," but "an" in "an inside job."
