I thought it would be all the rage in the forums but not a whisper!
I searched the forums first and I can't find one thing about it.
This (and The Blacklist) are the only TV shows that keep me watching. This is what TV is all about for me!
I used to only stick with The Blacklist but until like 3 weeks ago (has it only been 3 weeks?) this new show is just too good. Right of the start it was so intense and picked you right up. My dad found no interest in the show but was pinned to it by episode 2. I don't find Miss Lopez a good actor but she is great in this. But i just found this Ray Liotta dude and my goodness...just wow. He is so good. The show has a great cast and just unbelievable writing. I really am on the edge of my seat every time it airs. One critic called it "Nail-biting" and that is EXACTLY what I would name it as well. I mean it's 1 in the morning (literally) and I saw it at 10 and it's still on my mind.
*Recent episode Spoilers*
Another heart-pounding episode. The one - well, two - things have I have a problem with is that stupid cop that killed that guy and wants to atone for what he's done. He's been told to move on but he is too stuck. He's just asking - begging, even - for some messed up trouble.
Santos. Really? It's been like 2 days off the mic and you STILL can't tell Woz the truth? He'd easily believe you since you've known each other for so long. Now you're trapped. AGAIN.
Speaking of...that kiss Woz gave really shocked me. Cheating on his wife for a dude??? I don't know...that doesn't seem like the right way to write something. It'll REALLY complicate things (but that's what this show does best lol).
And Santos totally owned that stupid FBI cop at the end of the episode. LOL his face was freaking priceless!
siiigh, here we go with more of the gay relationships. this is exactly what makes me think that america has no idea what to do when they approach gays. every single time i've seen gays - every time - they always show them as these sex hungry monsters. just like straight people, sex IS JUST SOMETHING PEOPLE DO. you don't need to hone in on it and show them saying "See? Gay people have sex too!" all the dang time. either you are doing it wrong or you really are truly saying that all gay people live for is homo sex because they're allowed to do it in public.
utterly boring.
and from what i've seen from the preview it will only get worse.
onto the stupid negro killing and that stupid cop. that "killing my own people" bullcrap really got on my nerves. he's not killing his "own people", unless he wants to count that as human beings. YOU ARE PUTTING PEOPLE IN JAIL THAT DESERVE IT. WHO THE HECK CARES WHO PUTS THEM IN THE CAN. i agree with woz - "We're putting criminals in jail, not crayons." and watch this bullcrap, if woz suggested he'll take up his side of the urban side of the city and the other handles less negro criminals, then it'l be declared "blatant racism". there's just no satisfying these people.
the only good thing from the episode i really enjoyed was santos using her brains and inherent detective skills. i really like seeing her sparks of a true cop.
i don't know. i'm perplexed with this continuing. are they just going to hone in on woz being gay? because i mean he IS cheating on his wife. for the sake of the "gay shocker", they're just going to keep him untrue just to keep him gay? that'll be dumb. he needs to go back to his wife.
wow, last week was so intense! i knew woz wasn't going to keep his promise, which only shows how damaged he truly is. he really is a dark character, i hope when the writers reveal his past they don't mess it up. i like how they made him vomit after the first time he "killed" his partner. he'd never did something like that apparently, or at the very least he doesn't like doing it. he's not that cold.
again, i'm pissed at harlee. when woz spoke to his partner in his coma, he said "Why didn't you come to me? I would have protected you." he knew harlee eons more than any of the crew so he DEFINITELY would have found a way to protect her from the FBI. she feels this is all her fault and to be honest, most of it is.
this episode was so good! i really liked this one because it focused on all of the characters. and i really liked how everyone now realizes just how wrong they have been taking their job, and so they all have hope for the newbie.
this episode was also good in showing that while woz certainly has his own deals to protect himself, he dearly cares for everyone in the crew. for example he wouldn't have spent 120k on harlee for nothing. stuff like that, he's not doing it so he can "play God". if he did he would have told her so she could feel gratitude for him and worship him and stuff. but he didn't. that's some love right there. he also is torturing himself ever more than the camera shows about killing saperstein and now he wants to make up for it, trying to be a good cop again, but the poor guy. he's gone and crossed a line he's never done before and now he can't go back. he's just too crazy and in it. i was glad the good side of woz was showing, since my mother was so insistent on him only caring about himself.
thank God david has some heart. he was pissing me off grinding that framing case since he said early on that "I don't do petty crimes. They're not in my department."
i don't really disagree for harlee telling on woz. woz has to stop this and he needs to be put away. so now the rest of the series is about how cleverly she turns on him. this will definitely kill him, though, considering that he was pretty much lost when he figured out that harlee was the rat the first time, and now he's going to really know this time. but he was asking for it. he'll be so broken by betrayal.
that little spat harlee had with tess, my mother and i agree it's going to be something though. "What if the FBI was threatening your kids?!" i predict that she'll got back to apologize to harlee, saying that she wasn't thinking, but then she'll remember that she noted "kids", and get a bit suspicious since stein doesn't have any. we'll see if we're right.
this episode certainly makes up for the boring and useless 2 episodes they wasted for two weeks. however this proves a problem for wiz and his being gay. apprently they wanted it to be some kind of shock, but now he's talking and having deep conversations with his wife. not that i want to see it, but i'm wondering if those episodes were just filler and they'll quietly write that away to nothingness.
also the preview of the last episode seemed just as intense as this one. woz looked so crazy when he said he didn't "want this package" (reps to ray for his acting). what was it O_O
hard to believe such an intense show was a month ago.
my theory is what harlee told woz on the phone was that he wasn't the true kill of sap. that's why he stood up and glared at the FBI.
also it was no surprise to see woz give in to the FBI. he said he would have done that in the first place if harlee had told him in the beginning. which was stupid of her not to, but you have to make a plot somewhere. even for making harlee stupid and not telling woz until it was too late, it was still written excellently.
and i can no longer bear to look at the FBI stahl anymore since he had proved that he is more than a perv. there he is acting all high and mightly, thinking he can take woz down and he can barely contain his fear just sitting across from him. i hope he gets what's coming to him.
very sad that S1 ended :( now there's only the blacklist to look at on TV. i hope S2 comes out soon, but even for my eagerness to see it come back, there is always the fear of the "second season syndrome", when the seasons after the first are always in a tumble. blacklist is the only TV show to not spiral violently down that road. i hope Blue skips it as well.
