I wanted to share with you guys my wonderful experience I had this year at the Anime Expo. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Just like any other trip it's good to plan ahead.
It's held annually at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Califonia. The place is huge! Here's one of the entrances. Normally, it's crowded in the day time.
This is the "main hall." As you can tell that's a lot of people! Last year the count was more than 80,000 attendees and this year it's expected to be a lot more.
The first picture I took was with Gajeel from Fairy Tail. Flexing challenge accepted! Haha.
Tuturu~ It's Mayushii from Steins;Gate. She's one of my favorite female characters.
Speaking of female characters, I can't forget about my #1 sadistic girl, Esdeath xD
Are there any Fullmetal Alchemist fans in here?
Have you seen my lost daughter chimera? I thought this Shou Tucker cosplay was very creative. Well done!
As I was leaving my hotel, I ran into this big guy, Major Armstrong.
To my surprise, there were a lot of Tokyo Ghoul cosplays this year.
Of course there were a lot Naruto cosplay. Here's a good one of Kakashi. His hair was on point! Haha.
Oh man, a brawl is about to start! That Goku was pretty epic!
That's it for cosplay. Now let's move on to celebrities. There were tons of celebrities this year. You had the English cast of Kill La Kill, Dragonball Z: The Resurrection of F, and Sailor Moon Crystal. A lot of famous people from Japan like the creator of Spice & Wolf, some of the cast from Fate/Stay Night including singers like Aimer and Ayano Mashiro, the character designer for Key's work like Clannad and Kanon, and many more.
Here's a clip of the voice actress of Saber (Fate/Stay Night), Ayako Kawasumi, yelling Excalibur! It was pretty epic.
Here's a picture I took with Christina Vee. She was pretty nice and cool to talk to :) Some of her notable works include Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon), Homura Akemi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica), and Riven (League of Legends).
I saved the best for last. Meeting Cherami Leigh. When I got back into watching anime, Steins;Gate was one of the first anime I watched in a long time, she played Suzuha. As I watched more and more anime I started notice that she was in a lot of them. Lucy from Fairy Tail, Mai (Ghost Hunt), Uiharu (A Certain Scientific Railgun), Sunako (Shiki), and many more. So meeting her was like a dream come true :)
So lucky!!! Glad it looks like you had a lot of fun!! > v< I've only been to AX once and it was amazing!! <3 That was in 2012 though!!! Not sure when I'll be going to AX again though due to budgets ; v; Mainly because I normally go to Fanime in San Jose and I always spend a lot there whoops ahahaha (Never missing out on Fanime <3 )
You should go again. It's gotten a lot better since then. Better guests, panels, and events. This year was the biggest, more than 90,500 attendees. It is kinda expensive though. I spent around $500 for everything (4 day pass, hotel, food, merchandise, etc). Is Fanime like AX only smaller scale?
