Anime with Blind/Partially Blind character

To make a long story short, my fiance was born with a condition that's made her eyes very weak and she's been feeling pretty self-conscious about it lately. We've been watching quite a lot of anime together lately, and I'd love to find something that might lift her spirits a bit.

It doesn't have to be happy the ENTIRE time, but obviously something with an overall "happy" conclusion would be preferred. I'd also prefer to avoid any where the character in question is miraculously healed at the end too.

Edit: Ecchi/Harem content is not really to her liking, so something outside of those would be preferred as well.

Main character of this anime is blind. He doesn't stay blind for too long, but it's explained why in the story. Lots of drama too with a overall happy ending.

if you are also looking for things that are not anime, Katawa Shoujo has a path where the girl, Lilly, is blind. great love story with a great end.

I appreciate the suggestions very much, although (and this is my fault for not saying so before) I'd prefer things that didn't have stronger Ecchi or Harem content. That's not really her style. My mistake for not saying so before.

I'm not one who normally likes to "bump" things, but some more recommendations on this would be extremely appreciated. Heck, even just a solid series about a handicapped character would be good too, especially if the character in question is female.

Although it's not "anime" try Avatar The Last Airbender. During season two they introduce a blind main character.

Hm now that I think about it there aren't very many blind characters I remember and most are side characters.

Speed Grapher had
