| There are the obvious choices like Pokemon, but that's a pretty rubbish anime. I think you are better off with quality work like the Studio Ghibli collection - start with Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, in my opinion. If you want a longer running series, Digimon is actually quite good as a kids show. It has actual story progression and drama, unlike Pokemon (I really wish it was good). While it isn't anime, I highly recommend Avatar: the Last Airbender. You can read my review to see if it's for you and your niece. |

| Usagi Drop is really not suitable for a young child, especially if she has any insecurities about her family situation. Plus there is the illegitimacy issue which is usually not within the ken of nine-year-olds. |
| Just thought of 2 more.. since she liked Sailor Moon & Cardcaptors.. try Full Moon wo Sagashite and Ah my Goddess!.. they're of the romance and magic genres aswell. |
