Romance anime with female MC?

Hey guys,

I have been craving a romance anime, but for some reason I only like watching ones from a female perspective/ with a female MC. Can anyone recommend an anime?

My criteria is pretty bare bones; female lead, romance, and no ecchi (I've tried, not my thing, haha).

To give you an idea, some animes that I like are:
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
Chihayafuru
Full Moon wo Sagashite
Kami-sama Hajimemashita
Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

And ones I didn't like so much:
Peach Girl (too much drama for me)
Full Metal Panic! (I loved Sousuke, but found Kaname a little annoying)
Kare Kano (While I liked both characters, I found their romance developed too quickly, so it was a lot of frustrating drama; I guess the same feeling I got from Peach Girl?)

Older animes are well loved, but I've seem a lot of them, so I was wondering if you could recommend some newer ones?

Maybe I'm pickier than I thought... sorry ^^

True, of course, but it's hard to scroll through a list of shoujo to find something with an interesting enough story to watch. Thus, I am asking the people here for their recommendations so I know it'll be a good one. ^^

Yes! Itazura na Kiss and Kimi ni Todoke were fanstastic and exactly what I'm looking for, but sadly I've watched them both, but thank you!

Nodame Cantabile was good too, but seen it as well. I'd highly suggest it to anyone ^^

And I have seen Special A, Skip Beat, and Ouran, but I've been deterred from Marmalade Boy because of the sheer amount of episodes as well as what I've heard about it being a little slow.

I have also seen Sukitte Ii Na Yo (and loved it) as well as Lovely Complex and Special A, but again, exactly what I'm looking for!

most of the anime i watch have 50 episodes or more though here are a couple more you may like.

Kuragehime
+1 Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, Special A, and Skip Beat, although it's been a while since I've watched them.
The currently airing Ao Haru Ride should also fit.

I have seen Fruits Basket, Itazura na Kiss, Mikakunin de Shinkoukei (though it wasn't my favourite), Saiunkoku Monogatari, Kuragehime, Valkyria Chronicles (love!), as well as Vampire Knight and highly reccomend them to anyone.

I haven't seen/ heard of Ao Haru Ride and Natsu no Sora, so I will definitely watch them! Thank you for the animes ^^
