The closest thing to anime music I listen to is The Pillows. My family hasn't ever mentioned it, I don't think they care.
For now we are young, let us lay in the sun and count every beautiful thing we can see.

They used to when I was younger, but I later learned the mystical wonders of "headphones" when they were ready to erase every single MP3 on our computer.

My mom's fluent in Japanese so she only looks at me weird when the lyrics are kinda odd. My dad just gives me this cold stare.

My parents give me the weird looks every now and then but now they just don't care anymore. Some of my friends like it or even love it, and then there's the friends who want it shut off. My sister doesn't care either, but sometimes she likes it.

B4 my family doesn't know that I listen to it but i've been playing Japanese anime music CD which I compiled over 300 songs in the car with my brothers and sisters and I make them like it.

Eventually they love it now since its been 3yrs but i don't play the music when my parents are around bcuz they think the J-musics ruining me(which it doesn't, it entertains me and keeps me sane and stress free).

My parents are the only ones giving me cold stares for listening to what they call "watever-chinese-j-crap"

My roommate doesn't mind but when I'm at home my brother will give me weird looks and turn on really loud classical music. Naturally, I then turn my music up louder to combat his. I generally try not to let him stop me.

My mom just laughs at it when foreign music comes on, like Rammstein or Dir en Grey or stuff. And shakes her head sometimes. Its alright, I don't mind a little motherly judging. xD I actually hide the fact that I read manga/watch anime from most people i know more than anything.

My parents are those "we accept everything you do" type people. I respect them for it, but they don't get the appeal of Japanese music. Hell, it's whatever. I don't listen to a lot of it anyways.

My father is a classical musician, so he makes fun of my Visual-Kei music often. He'll start yodeling when a song comes up that he recognizes just to be obnoxious, and let's not lie- Japanese singers have got a pretty nasty vibrato that deserves to be made fun of at times.

My mother... actually likes some bands like Bump of Chicken or Gackt.

I'm slowly converting my family to Japanese music... hahaha.

Because of visual-kei, my stepdad thinks I like gay men :/

I just remembered there was this one time when I blasted "obscure" by Dir En Grey, and as it got to the screaming/psycho part, my mom walked in. She gave me this wtf look and then shut the door.

Aah, I love you j-rock.. haha..

Usually get the ,"what the heck is that" since nearly everyone else in my family is Spanish or (American) Indian so for me to not speak Spanish is beyond their comprehension.

High-quality noise-canceling headphones. Use 'em and your "problem" will cease to exist.

Alternatively: haters are going to hate. Fuck 'em.

My family rarely ever makes comments on my listening to any Japanese music. My little brother has asked me, "Why do you like that Chinese stuff?" a few times though. As for my parents they only comment on the "creepy", "scary", "weirdo goth" stuff.

Um, well not really.

They all have music that they think is weird to listen to, so they can't really make fun of me about it.

If they do then we all have a good laugh though.

I tend to try hide the fact I listen to kpop/jpop at times.
I'm super embarrassed of it.

Kept trying to sneak in periods where I was alone to listen to the ending theme of Hatsukoi Limited which was like stuck in my head for a while.

I always tend to quickly switch to RnB/some electronic music (e.g. all that techno, hardstyle stuff some of you might dislike) when someone walks past.

My mom's Hubby pointed out a video to me the other week - it was Bad Apple. He wondered why I laughed, and then I showed him the folder on my iPod with four different versions of it. He's in his mid 50s and I'm in my late 30s so yeah my family is somewhat open-minded.

Dialog:
Son: Mum, Dad, I have to tell you something... I am
Dad: go on son!
Son: I think, I am...
Mum: Son! we will accept it! Don't worry!
Dad: If you are gay, it's OK with us.
Son: I am not, but...
Dad: So are male prostitute maybe?
Son: (with red face) I listen to the anime music! (runs away to his room)
Mom: (weaping!) Oh! What went wrong? I am trying to make him a good child, and now....
Dad:(went to the son's room): pack yourself, you are going to live on street from now on.

Hahaha.

Now seriously, I don't understand you people writting about it on here, is it really so big deal?
In my family it's OK.
I only have problem with "forcing" my mother to listen to Korean, Japnese and CHinese music.

Though, I actually don't listen anime music so much, some of them are really good songs, but listening then at the beginning or end of anime is enough.
If I like the ending song, I may listen to it, but ussualy I close the it.
They know I study those languages.
There is no problem with Japanese, and Chinese I think, considering those are very important countries, but my mother asks me why I study Vietnamese, and sister why I study Korean...
Well.. Korea is a rich coutry also,They produce a lot of stuff.
Vietnamese, well it's not so useful, but it belongs to the kanji culture
