Now I realize you never said that it would be good.
REEEEEE

I took one look at him and saw his finely cut beard and his body of a greek god. I heard about how he is an absolute badass where everything about him is manly. I was just so amazed by him and thought how a character like him could exist. I then started the series and shortly after realized “Rider” was Alexander the Great or Iskandar. Of course I would call him Iskandar by the time I joined Discord but before then I just called him “Rider” which bit me in the ass where I got pictures of Medusa who I didn’t quite get to say the least. At first, I thought his interactions with Waver were funny but a little cute. Waver was kind of annoying but I figured he will get more likeable as time goes on. I’ll get to this later on because of my C- rank Writing skills. Unfortunately, because I’m an idiot, I spoiled myself with “Rider’s” death. It really shocked me but to be fair, I probably would of guessed he would die based on the fact that Gilgamesh is suppose to be unbeatable and that “Rider” would have to died against him since he wasn’t in Fate/Stay Night. But even though I knew about this, I still forgot about it when I saw him in the anime. His brilliant Charisma with both his words and his sword make him pretty noble to me.
Before his fight with Archer, Waver uses all his commands to command Iskandar… to basically win the HGW and conquer the world. Waver tells him he did that so that he can no longer be his master. It’s his battle and that he should fight on his own since he will be hindering him. Yet… Iskandar just looks at the boy, grabs him like he always does, and puts him on Bucephalus and tells him that even if he isn’t Waver’s servant, Waver should still fight with him at see it through it to the end.
I think… at this point I just fell in love with Iskandar because of how much it made my eyes wet. It was such a beautiful scene to the point where I think Waver sneezing on Iskandar’s mantle made it more heartwarming because it showed how close he has become of Iskandar. I really do ship these two and I wanted them to be together for as long as possible, because they deserve each other. And theeeeeeeeeeen, Iskandar vs Gilgamesh. You know how I knew Iskandar was going to die in the story, well knowing that just made the scenes more heart breaking. But even if you weren’t spoilered like me, they still let you know it’s not going to end well. Gilgamesh isn’t even that bad considering he still had a toast with Iskandar before the fight and showed him lots of respect, and I still can’t forgive him. There’s a reason I can never really like him or think of him as a good person despite his time in the EXTRA series or presence or his expanded lore in FGO. Seeing EA making Iskandar’s reality marble collapse upon itself and Iskandar’s whole army fall in the endless void, it makes it clear. He can’t make this. And then. And then. And then Iskandar looks at Waver, both of them know the fate of Iskandar. Waver then says his emotional lines while “You are my King” plays:
So eventually I got to the r/saber discord (now known as Fate/Type-Moon ofc) and got introduced to Fate Grand/Order. Was a total noob at the game and didn’t quite get it. It was three months after the Accel Zero event ended and I felt really bad because Iskandar is limited and I missed my chance to get him. Apparently he’s now less popular than he was back then and people were calling him shit and stuff like that. I was annoyed but I reasoned with it because it was a waifu game and I shouldn’t think much of the game and their fans right?
All I want to say is that Iskandar is important to me. I know that he’s a fictional character, but I don’t give a damn. I still consider him to be not only my friend, but my king, my inspiration, my hero, and other titles I could give him. He means a lot to me and I will always cherish him.
