Does this ever get good?

I don't often drop animes, in fact if you see my list I have a single dropped series, but this show is just too boring, nothing ever happens, there doesn't seem to be an story or plotline at all, every "mystery" is solved in a single episode and always by the protagonist, which, by the way, is one of the worsts MC that I've ever seen on any show. She's acting so indifferent and aphatics all the time, the only times when we see her genuinely happy is when she's making/trying medicines and poisons.

Also, all the characters are so plain and unidimensional, I don't really care for none of them, will all of this change any time or the series is just like that the whole time?

The show is a lot of one-shot mysteries that get solved in a single episode by an aloof MC. Whether or not you like that is a different matter but most of the post is just true.


I'm 8 episodes in and I don't see what the fuss is about this show. Its well made but as I said in a different thread, I would prefer if there were an extra layer to separate it from reality. Seeing someone in ancient China doing CPR, making chocolate from scratch, and never do any quack bs medicine in addition to accidentally sometimes doing realish medicine is distracting to me. Its also generally rather girly, which is fine, but not usually my particular cup of tea.
