it's not sarcasm, it's true. I've seen many people here on MAL hating this series and those two reasons are the reasons that I hear most often.

Ok like the honesty. I think people are judging Lelouch to harshly, I think they designed him as a flawed character to make him more human and relatable to at least in the sense of how everyone has flawed.
The ending was made ambiguous on purpose so that there would be these kind of debates over a decade later after the end of the series.

Because this is the best mecha anime. I've watched eva as well as logh but I think this is the best one. Others just can't accept the fact that this is the best mecha anime.

I really don't see any harsh criticisms for this show other than mere nitpicks. If I were to get picky then all I'd say is that the use of certain CAMERA ANGLES is excessive and feels out of place for something like this. Not that it really matters, but I could've done without all the ecchi

I’ve seen many series getting hate
e.g : DN , AOT , MHA , Gintama , Steins Gate , HXH
but never seen CG getting hate or maybe I am not really that active in the CG fandom
