- Only score an anime when I complete it (only broke this rule for Log Horizon because I felt my score would not have changed regardless of if I completed it or not).
- Give an anime a few episodes before I decide to completely drop it (only broke this rule for ChäoS;HEAd, because I'm not watching an anime with a protagonist like that).
- Try to watch everything chronologically, then the OVAs if any.

I always watch the opening of the first and last episode of any anime that I binge.

My rules:
1. I DO NOT DROP. I put on HOLD.

2. If it is the first episode of an anime I have not watched yet, Watch the OP and the ED all the way through.

3. If I enjoyed the episode a LOT, watch the whole ED.

4. If it is the LAST episode of an anime, (even if I didn't like it) Watch the whole OP and ED, out of respect for the hard work that went into this anime.

5. If there is an emotional scene coming up, move to a quiet place, so not to be disturbed while enjoying the scene. That way, if the scene is filled with the type of emotion that is genuinely hard to watch, it WILL be hard to watch. (Also, my favorite thing that anime can do EVER, is using silence or near silence to create emotion or convey something, so this is very important).

If I don't enjoy what I'm watching I usually stop. There's been anime I stopped ten seconds in because I know it's not for me. Other shows take an episode or two.
For new seasons of anime, I give everything that catches my eye a chance, and by an episode with each one I know if it's worth my time or not.
Older stuff, I just watch what I want, when I want.
For lengths, a minute or so per episode series are for mouthwash, two to three minute per episode series are for brushing my teeth, four to nine minute episodes are for washing my mask, ten to nineteen minute episodes are for washing my laundry in my portable washing machine, twenty to thirty minute episodes are for meals, and anything longer than that are for days off.
I'm working more anime into my todo list little by little, because I was on strong medicine until recently that made me too tired to even stay awake most the day, but some time soon I'll be able to work in about a day's worth of anime every week while having time to work, clean, exercise, and write fiction

-If I feel like watching, I watch it.
-If there are multiple entries in a franchise and they have direct continuity, I follow the release date.
-If the show does not seem interesting to me, it doesn't matter how much people says it's amazing, I won't watch it.
-If the fandom makes me hate the show before I watch it, I won't watch it because I'd just be a mindless hater (Shingeki no Kyojin).
-If I dropped it in the first episode, I don't rate it.
-Subbed is always the first option, if I can't find that version, then dub it is.
-Openings and endings are completely skippable, after scenes are not.
-Accordingly, previews of next episodes and recaps on next episodes are completely skippable.
-Always try to watch something similar for comparative evaluation, unless the show becomes one of my most hated ones, in which case, avoid similar stuff at all costs. This led me to delete a lot of entries in my PTW list.
-Avoid as much ecchi as possible, especially if it takes place in historical settings, I don't care about such shows. Exceptions are permitted when I'm horny af, even then be somewhat selective and don't just watch whatever softporn I find.
-Avoid as much long fighting shounen as possible, I can't deal with such stuff anymore.
-Try to watch as much as possible during weekends and vacations, again, if I feel like it.
-Adaptations work as trailers for the source material, thus, it's perfectly justified to not check out the source material if the anime didn't keep my interest.
-For the love of fuck, never become one of those who keeps talking about the same show all the time and oversells and overpraises it.
-Accordingly, don't oversell and overpraise everything.
-Talk about different shows, I like variety.
-Don't insult others just because they have different opinions and taste than mine (not as obvious as you may think around here).
-Make comparative evaluations with other mediums when rating but always keep in mind that every medium is different.
-Set highest possible ratings for specific shows.
-Ratings are never truly objective, but never based just on personal enjoyment, I have my own tags for that.

I think those are all, somehow it came out like I'm talking to someone else when in reality I'm talking about myself lol

I always want to give a series a chance even if I dislike the first episode, so continue for two or three more before I form a proper opinion on it on whether I want to continue.

Sad thing is, I usually really like the first episode and the set up that hooks you in. Then it turns out the rest of the anime slowly descends into utter trash.... ;(

Yass I would do exactly the same and watch everything the anime has to offer as long as it's available to me but if I don't really like the series that much, then I skip everything else lol

My number 1 rule is:

Only nut when there is something hot happening, i mean, can you imagine watching a hentai and nutting in the wrong time? That's so depressive, so yeah, i try to hold as much as i can, so when the pussy shot comes in, i'll come out.

-Wait on seeking out memes until AFTER watching the series
-Dark room = best viewing
-Dubs when drawing/multitasking (I say, then use subs anyways)
-'Alternative' streaming options are always available
-have a break between binges to avoid burnout

I thought this was kind of a weird question until I realized I do have rules.

- If I really don't like something I'm going to drop it whenever I feel like it, whether it's 2 minutes in or one episode before the final.

- I'll skip past any explicitly and excessively violent scenes.

- If I need to take a break from anime I'm going to take it even if it lasts for months.

- If there has been some kind of longer pause in keeping up with what I'm watching, I will re-watch what I watched up to that point before moving on to the new episodes, and mark start and end dates accordingly. I try not to have this happen a lot because it can get pretty tedious.

- Keep on top of all my various lists for anime staying up to date.

- Will watch subsequent material (movies, specials, prequels, bonuses, OVAs etc) only if I enjoyed the anime enough.

- Always watch with subs. Just a personal preference.

- Adjust the volume according to how much noise I can tolerate that day.

- Always pick what to watch next only according to mood or my boyfriend's suggestion.

- Avoid major spoilers.

- Generally no mecha, military or sports anime. No POV anime.

- Try to avoid the art style where they have huge, bug-like eyes.

- Try to locate the version of the subs I first watched with when I am looking for a copy to keep.

- Streaming over files except for favorites and in case my browser crashes super freaking often.

- Only add a hentai to the list if I've actually watched the whole thing.

- Rate only after completing or occasionally when dropping.

- Write short summaries of my thoughts for myself in the tags section of my list on MAL.

- If something looks or sounds interesting, put it in the PTW, there's no rush and at least that way I won't forget a title.

- Don't skip amazing OPs or EDs.

- Stick around for after credit scenes if episode length post-credits hints there may be some.

- Always go in with a positive attitude.

I have no real rules aside from even if I'm bored with an aime I try my best to give it 4 episodes before dropping. why? because most anime are ln adaptations nowadays and the first arc ends in ep4. ep3 just ends before the climax.

First i pray to Borat, wape and Pikachu cory the last airbender in the house.

Then i just hope i'm not dumb enough to have clicked on the sequel and just watch.
If i enjoyed S1 then i watch the sequel and at the very end the OVA's.

If I think it looks entertaining, then i'll give it a go, but if im unsure, i'll read some reviews to help me decide.
I don't trust the MAL scores so i don't use them.
I used to have a 3 episode rule, but Soul Eater put paid to that, oh my god did it ever...
but mostly as long as it makes me laugh or is a really good story, i'll watch something to the end.

-Watches for Enjoyment
-Doesn't pirate if there is a legal option
-Will definitely try to check out anything else in the franchise if I liked what I saw
-Drops anything anytime as needed
-Skips filler (unless it's actually interesting which is rare.)
-Skips recaps
-Skips the opening/ending sequences after watching them once unless I like the song or the show's content plays during them
-Always checks for after-credits scenes

I have this one rule that I don't watch a certain type of anime in some certain climate.

Example: I don't watch sci-fi, mystery or drama anime in hot climate, I like to watch them when it's cold. For hot climate I like to watch shounen or sports anime.

Watch Op and Ed at least once and watch in chronological order. Ignore MAL ratings and if start getting bored, put on hold. Personal things could be why I started getting disinterested.

If I make it through episode 1, I must finish the entire series.
That's why my dropped anime is 0.

The biggest rule I have with anime is to not rush the anime like I used to do a lot and just enjoy it. I always expect myself to watch 5 or more episodes before stopping, but I just need to enjoy it. When it comes to seasonal anime’s, I sometimes like to wait for that particular series to be completed. I don’t really like watching anime’s that are still going, unless I’m totally hooked into it. An example is Jujutsu Kaisen. I’m totally hooked into that series.

My rules are finish the whole anime recaps short special everything. Once I have watched an anime I download its OPs and EDs. an AMV related to it and some pics related to it. If the anime reach my top ten I download every theme song. A single photos of the character too. The top 3 I download every thing episode a few AMV special episodes all.

I don't drop any anime. have to finish what I started.
Watch OP and ED one time at least in any animation.
Don't skip anything.

I don't know if that's a rule, but if I know something is fully episodic I use a episode guide and watch the episodes that i'm interested in first. I had a lot more fun with Lupin after doing that.

The only rule I can think of is to try and not watch two very similar types of anime consecutively, for example, two CGDCT or battle shounen anime in a row. I need to keep my watching experience as fresh as possible.

I don't think I have any hard rules for anime.

If I am not enjoying it, then I'm more than likely not going to finish it.

I feel like it's cheating to skip filler episodes because I don't think you can say you completed a show unless you have seen every episode. The one exception I made to this was for Rurouni Kenshin as I had watched all of the main story and I heard the last 30 episodes (or however many it is) wasn't really worth watching.
