Is the main problem with anime the large amount of "suspension of disbelief" you have to make?

A serious show on the other hand would shatter the immersion with this kind of scenario. In a more grounded story, it's far more interesting for the hero to utilize some form of tactical setup, demonstrating his prowess in strategy instead of his ability to do impossible things.
