I'm a straight guy, but I have 2 lesbian friends that like yuri, and 3 straight that also like it.
That sounds more like something you dislike about romance in general instead of just yuri. There are many yuri shows that aren't like that.

Go find some good yuri manga, anime doesn't have much to offer. That said, lesbians won't be the target audience in most cases, but I still think you'll find decent stuff.

I mean, that makes sense...yaoi tend to have more serious stories and cutesy moments that would appeal to a female demographic than male-targeted yuri.

It would be like saying I as a straight male am into watching sexualized male characters over sexualized female characters...

Actually...I don't mind sexualized traps...but that's a different story.

More cutesy than yuri? I've watched yaoi shows, but more cutesy than Sakura Trick? Yeah... No.

I think you mean "shoujo". Or "onna", since you used "otoko" instead of "shounen" for yaoi.
