I just started Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I got the wrong copy from the library, though. Since there's no annotations in my edition, I'll be missing out on all of the good ol' literary analysis/devices/deliciousness because I'm too stupid to pick it out myself.

ME TOO! I'm reading Pride and Prejudice!! Love the classics!!

It's a unique idea turned into a book. Not a big fan of the Science Fiction genre but this definitely a must to check out.

Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics (currently)
Lifelines :Biology Beyond Determinism: Steven Rose (read a few chapters)
The Making of Memory : Steven Rose ( I have it but I haven't started it ;~; I just...need to finish the others)
Metaphysics and the Origin of Species: Ghiselin (reading whenever I can fit it in)
I did finish
V.S. Ramachadran's Book Phantoms in the Brain , that was very interesting XD Concerning phantom limbs mainly, how the brain creates a situation where they could still be felt by the patient even months after removal.

I am about to read Sword of Shannarah. I read the prelude first and it was quite good but had some slow parts. Hope this one is similar but without any slow stuff. Terry Brooks is a high disputed author though. Some adore him and some say he just copies Tolkien.

Finished Saramago, it was really interesting and I loved the whole environment of the story. It was almost like Eça, but not being Eça. :3

And finally, FINALLY, I finished Only Revolutions. They are not 16 forever. They are 16 now.

Will now start reading "The Sands of Time - A Hermux Tantamoq Adventure" by Michael Hoeye. I just love these books.

Done, it was cute.

Started a Portuguese book called "Teodora and the Spell Book", by Luisa Fortes da Cunha. It's about fairies and Portuguese folklore for kids. Will finish it today, and the next book in line is by Charlotte Haptie, called "Otto and the Flying Twins"

I'm loving this strain of kids books, even though they are not really well written or anything like that. I wonder why we let kids read these....

At the moment I'm reading Domes of Fire by David Eddings. It's good, but just feels like Belgariad/Mallorean with different names. I tend to read fantasy; Raymond Feist, Piers Anthony, Anne McAffrey, RA Salvatore, Weis & Hickman, Jennifer Robbins, Jane Lindskold, stuff like that.

I am currently re-reading Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas, great supernatural mystery. It is also my favorite book of all time, awesome story and the main character is really just a masterpiece; one of the best characters I have ever read/seen in anything be it movie, book, manga/anime. Awesome read.

I really like this book even though it is taking me quite a while to read it. "The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It is very good 19th century, I believe, Russian book of mystery, murder, some romance, and religion. I recommend this book.

Excellent book, even if it feels like Dostoyevsky is simply talking to us as himself as opposed to through a story.

I am still reading The Dream of the Red Chamber, but I also started up The Lankavatara Sutra as well as The Legend of Drizzt Collector's Edition, Book II by R.A. Salvatore, which contains books 4-6 of The Legend of Drizzt.

Jules Verne...I've read five of his but I haven't read that one. Fav so far: Michel Strogoff.

Reading (slowly)
"One Hundred Years of Solitude" Gabriel García Márquez
I'm half way but so far it's a crazy weird tale of a family. It takes patience to read it ( I kinda lack it lately), but it's undoubtedly an Epic book.

^Ehh, at least those are pretty interesting easy to follow for classics. Be thankful at least that you don't have to read The Scarlet Letter and As I Lay Dying at the same time; those were awful... :/

Oh, if you like that, you should check out the author's other series (The Warrior Heir + sequels) too; it's pretty good for YA fantasy.

I'm about halfway through Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French, which was a blind buy for me based off the cover and description. The back of the book got it right in saying it was a black comedy (and a funny one at that), but I like how the author's spending time developing the characters and their bond too.

I'm loving this strain of kids books, even though they are not really well written or anything like that. I wonder why we let kids read these....

Well, meanwhile I forgot to update and read quite a batch of books. Here is what I've been doing on the past few weeks:

"O Peixe Azul" ("The Blue Fish") by Margarida Fonseca Santos - quite childish, but fun nonenthless. Not especially good.

"L'Isola del Tempo Perso" ("The Island of the Lost Time") by Silvana Gandolfi - I loved this one, really great. If you like young teen books you should pick this one, I wonder if there are more like it. It's about two girls that get lost and end up on an island where all the lost things are!

"Journey to the River Sea" by Eva Ibbotsom - Really great, I loved this one as well. Very well written.

"Teodora e o Caldeirão Sagrado" ("Teodora and the sacred cauldron") - More of the same crap.

"The Gallow Glass" by Brian Keaney - Honestly, I did not understand why this book waswritten. The story is not any original, it's not well written, all of it feels like a book that wants to be a movie but never could. My friend let me borrow and said "this book is completely tripped, you'll love it!", but it was just average. Not tripped at all.

A poetry Anthology called "Five Stars", collecting children poetry by Chico Buarque, Henriqueta Lisboa, Oavo Bilac, Carlos Drummond de Andrade and Gonçalves Dias (all Brazilian authors)

"Eu Chovo, tu choves, ele chove..." by Sylvia Orthof ("I rain, you rain, he rains...") - It's a play. I hated it, all of it was horrible.

"Wildwood Dancing" buy Juliet Marillier - I really loved this one to pieces, it was really well written and the story was really original, for a fantasy book. I had to control myself to not cry at parts (was reading during class) and all of it was full of emotions. I really enjoyed this book, I hope this author has similar works under her wing because I want to read more from her! Also borrowed from a friend.

"The Scarecrow and his Servant" by Philip Pullman - Great. Adorable. Fun. Philip Pullman is really good, I'm so glad I got this book.

"The Guardians of the Night" by Serguei Lukianenko (the original name is in Russian and has letters that my keyboard is missing...) - Really dark, but very well written (and very well translated too). My friend let me borrow only because she knows I like Russian litterature, but this was unexpectedly good. I often dislike the Fantasy genre, but this book kind of gets out the "fantasy" to become a reality and a social commentary inserted on a meta-world. Really good, I want to read the rest of the trilogy.

Now I'll start reading an Essay by Erasmo, which I'm trying to translate.... It's something like "Praising of Madness", but there are probably better words to call it.

Holy shit man, I read Ender's Game 3 times, and that is the most I've reread one book. You seriously that picky? I mean, if you like fantasy, read Shannara, or like I said, Ender's Game, or Magician: Apprentice/Master, or Lord of the Rings, or Starship Troopers, or 1984, or The Hobbit, or... 45 times!?
