Seems like I missed out on some fun today.

It's no mystery why only a True Ancestor, Executor, part-demon, synchronizers and a cat can handle our lovable protagonist.

He truly is the most dangerous enemy (or ally) of the mankind...

By the way, are you guys telling me that there is a chance for a Tsukihime anime?

it was said there is likely to be one after the VN gets a rework. it's gonna be a good while considering how much work that has got to go into the new tsukihime VN to get it up to todays standards plus a whole new route(would be cool if they make it up to Witch on the holy night standard)

I actually like the Melty Blood manga more than the Tsukihime manga.

And i like Sion more than Arcuied.

Well, the manga follows Arcuied's route (for the most part) so what you get about Ciel is what helps the route make sense as a standalone (or as much as it actually can be).

So guys, I finished reading Tsukihime a while ago and I was wondering which of the sequels I should play first - Kagetsu Tohya or Melty Blood? From what I've read around, it seems like Melty Blood would be better, but I'm not entirely sure about that. I don't know if this choice matters much at all either.

Also, I didn't know there was a manga version of Melty Blood. Is that better than the game? Is it canon? I'm not quite into manga to be totally honest, but I guess it might be worth reading given the fact that Melty Blood isn't a visual novel per se.

Lastly, what would you guys say is absolutely essential to watch Carnival Phantasm (that is to say, the least you should know)? What's irrelevant? And what should you watch to get the most out of the show?

^I have so many things to read/watch, like Prisma Illya, F/HA (which I heard is a requirement of sorts to watch Prism Illya), both Tsukihime sequels, etc. This makes the choice of when to watch Carnival Phantasm pretty confusing.

play first Kagetsu Tohya
melty blood has been released after and there is characters in it that come from Kagetsu Tohya and you won't get the references in it if you don't do it first.

Melty Blood has a vn part in it it's a story mode you need to play melty blood re-act for that.
The manga version follow line by line the story of Melty Blood in the game (well of course it's more complete in the game since well it's written like a VN)

if you are a completist.
Melty blood Re-act have also an arcade mode where you get an ending for each character like every fighting game, it's quite fun.

Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver. B doesn't have the story mode of re-act, but it has also an arcade mode which is kind of a story mode for each character. It's NOT the same story than re-act.

(now it's a long time i don't remember if it is act cadenza or re-act that we get to see white len storybut anyway)

Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code is the sequel of Melty Blood mirror moon is translating it a the moment but they(ve released a partial patch that didn't translate all the dialogue at the moment.

I recommend Kagetsu Tohya before Melty Blood. If only for the fact that you get a bit more expansion on current affairs, plus, you get to connect with Len; who you are expected to know in Melty Blood. Magical Amber ftw too.

For Carnival Phantasm, just over-familiarize yourself with the worlds/spin-offs of Fate/ and Tsukihime and you're basically good to go. Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/Zero get mini cameos, pretty much everything else gets references. The more Type-Moon you know, the better, pretty much. Lots of fan-base jokes that just come to you naturally too. Pretty sure I over-looked something.

Re-watching Carnival Phantasm never gets old, so don't be too concerned of getting every little detail the first, second or 100th time around. Just have fun with it.

Kagetsu Tohya is an oddball. Parts of it is canon and other part aren't. It's as a sequel to Tsukihime as F/HA is a sequel to F/SN.
Read it if you liked Tsukihime enough. Plus it introduces Len, which is enough reason to consider IMO.

Melty Blood is REALLY good and is a must IMO. It's better than the game in some ways mostly because you actually see the action instead of reading it's description. It's can be worse because it misses some of the story, and you don't get to beat the crap out of Aoko Aozaki.

Melty Blood is also canon. It's a direct sequel to Satsuki's (removed due to time constraints) route's normal end, which will be in the Tsukihime remake BTW.

IF you intend to consume all of TM's works, then Carnival Phantasm should be in the very end. Seriously, it spoils most the Nasuverse.

The minimum requirements : Tsukihime - Melty Blood - F/SN
The recommended requirements:: a core i7... no I'm kidding.
It's Tsukihime - Kagetsu Tohya - Melty Blood - F/SN - F/HA

F/HA is pretty good, but i don't think you need it for the first 2 seasons of PrIllya. You'll probably need it for what comes next though.

Damn, I almost forgot about the Tsukihime plus disc. I'll look into that before Tagetsu Tohya.

I guess the biggest problem is that F/HA is huge. Tagetsu Tohya isn't THAT long according to vndb, but everything adds up. Plus the fact that I've just begun reading Kara no Shoujo... you get the picture.

By the way, it seems like everybody really enjoyed F/HA. I get the feeling it's going to exceed my expectations by far.

the beginning of FHA was enough for me to put me quicly into the story. And when i say quickly it was after 1 page lol

well Fate kaleid zwei introduce characters from FHA (well Luvia is also deceloped in FHA) so it's better to do things in order to catch all the reference (well i didn't play fha at that time because it wasn't translated lol

Bottom, top, left, and right. The edges of the screen look black... about 7-8% of the screen.

I don't think this is "real scaling", or at least not the kind you can adjust that easily, since whenever I alt tab it goes back to normal. Catalyst shows 0% scaling when the game is minized or in windowed mode.

but as i remember it was very faithful to the arcueid route especially for the big line, so i would bet that yes for sure.

I didn't know about those options. Changing those only changed to format to 4:3... with black borders on the top/bottom of the screen too, for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion though. It might actually look better this way... I dunno yet.

It is explained in VN. Alongside many other things(like Akiha).

Manga only really touches on Arcueid Shiki and a little bit of Ciel.
