Saccaed said: i don't feel it tho, it shouldn't be about cute cheecks and explosions (despite lots of cool huge explosions). well, the character design is mostly the result of nihei's new style and polygon's own style. the manga designs definetely were a lot better for the kind of story, but these redesigns were provided by nihei, if i remember correctly, so... but explosions? that's practically all blame! should be about tho. it's not a deep manga or anything, it just has a narrative that allows for open-minded interpretation. in the end it's just an action manga, that allowed nihei to draw nice big structures and all that. it's an action manga regardless, the narrative doesn't change that, or rather emphasises it, even if it leads to nihilistic interpretations, or supposed deep world-building. iis this how i would have wanted to see it animated? probably not, tho i can't say much until I see the actual movie. i'm just a different kind of author than nihei. logically i'd put emphasis on the underlying themes, more than the action, but as for him it's all about the action, so i think, in terms of being blame!, it's gonna be faithful, even if it isn't the kind of blame! most people want to have. but yeah, if you're expecting something beyond an action flick, you'll probably be disappointed. |
