Just going to check your profile...yup tons of generic moe'

I really don't see how this is moe. The features aren't exaggerated and rounded like Chuu2 or K-On
I don't get what's bad about moe in the first place, it's just a buzzword thrown around as an excuse to call something generic.

There's nothing wrong with moe, it has its place in anime/manga. What I was getting at is that people don't like this art style purely because the female characters aren't designed to be as attractive and likeable as possible(moe'). Since people realize how shallow that argument is after a few comments, they start finding other things that are "wrong" with it so they don't sound like perverted moe' lovers.

Also if any of you have not even watched the show because of the pics posted, the people who disliked the change in art style purposely searched for frames of animation where the characters looked bad(while blinking/talking/moving ext). You can do that with literally any anime, and people have posted examples in another topic. Just don't judge by these pics, yea it is a different style but it doesn't look bad. I'm not one of those people trying to act like this anime is amazing, so far it's pretty good but the plot could end up bringing the show down. It's pretty much a more pretentious dark version of Masturbation Master Kurosawa. The animation is not bad though, it's just not what a lot of you are used to.

Not going to deny that some of these editing jobs are hilarious though lol

I have nothing about rotoscoping in general, I like watching something different. However I don't like how sloppy it's executed on people. There are shots where characters look retarted compared to the same expressions RL people would look like with. Combined with lack of shading results can be atrocious.
However, there ARE shots and scenes which look just beautiful. Background looks amazing, void scene from beginning of ep2 too and Nakamura is just damn cute in some shots.

If HF ended up being a single movie, what would it need to do so it can get a high score from all of you?

Not air.

anime versus "CANime"

I found some specific numbers allowing some comparison between Japanese anime and
some animation made in Canada. Apparently, a basic rule of thumb for Japan-made
anime is that each minute costs US$4800.(SEE NOTE *) One example of a cartoon
series made by a Canada-based company cost US$12000/minute.(See NOTE +). So
the production costs are 2.5X as much. Is the entertainment value 2.5X better? Have
a look at one example from that Canadian cartoon series and decide for yourself. (@)

Ethically, I must reveal that I am Canadian.

Canadian government policy has actively supported animation here. We have a very
long history of non-commercial, government-funded artistic films created by our
National Film Board.(SEE #) We also have laws requiring TV stations to show a large
fraction of Canadian-made programming. I believe that our commercial animation
industry is government-subsidized to some degree. Likewise, our government has
always financially supported radio and TV stations, networks and program production.

..but wouldn't that be enough reason to not like the art?
Although, I can understand the frustration you get to see people drop it because of the rotoscoping, they're not in the wrong for doing so.
as long as they pick up the manga
I mean if you're gonna be watching something it should at least be enjoyable for you to look at. That's why I understand why people would drop it. Personally I would prefer what that guy posted. It's looks much more like what Im used to (the manga) but i'm still gonna watch the animation til the end.

Yeah I was getting the whole Onani Master vibe from it too haha

Steins;Gate is a completely different story. Of course people wouldn't like a rotoscoped Steins;Gate because it wouldn't fit as the story of Steins;Gate is science fiction. The plot of Aku no Hana seems like something that would be non-fiction that viewers and see happening in the real world, so the rotoscope animation is used to give it a more realistic feeling.

It's true. But all these year in anime history, it must be the first anime to animated in rotoscoping. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Rotoscoping Go under "anime" and read for yourself.

I would say the biggest turn off for most is how her chin or the lower side of the face was animated. Care to show your opinion on that?
Feels like losing all five senses &
Maybe not able to have thoughts,
