@MISSed_Bandwagon I agree, but I believe media shows stuff like that because it happens irl. It also adds to shock factor too, I felt like crying and I’m someone that isn’t very emotional. Honestly, it made me more aware of how much this happens irl too, hence the frequency of the theme

@Jaywatts03 Yes, I can understand that these things do happen in real life. But because they happen in real life, why do they only show it happening to girls? Why doesn't the media ever show that sexual abuse can also happen to boys and girls can have a different origin story for once?

@MISSed_Bandwagon well, I’m not an author so I can’t say much about why they choose to do so. I think it’s pretty clear that women and girls are statistically more likely affected by these things unfortunately. I think I’ve seen some shows where guys have faced similar type of abuse too. Off the top of my head; Redo of Healer and Happy Sugar Life are some. They are dark shows, so I’m not making these a recommendation 😂

@Jaywatts03 I've unfortunately seen some very graphic scenes from Redo of a Healer. 😱 Big yikes! All I can say is thank goodness I'm a veteran anime watcher. It's definitely not for newcomers or the faint of heart.

@MISSed_Bandwagon oh boy😅it’s extremely difficult for me to recommend to you because of some of the unsettling themes regarding what I spoke about. I like more darker anime so this was one of those ones I saw someone talk about and I went in blindly. You can read the synopsis but the show is one of those ones where you just gotta watch. This was almost the second anime I would have dropped and I’ve only ever dropped one after years of watching 😂

@Jaywatts03 Lol, no problem. I'm from the old school yaoi days. From the Higurashi, Akame Ga Kill, and of course, Elfen Lied era. I can take it! 💪🏾
