Ok Gru-Senpai, here it this, my next attempt at making this review. My idea was to look at old one and cut away parts i felt was not need and used spell checker to hopeful make any spelling mistakes. While you said to write a 300-400 words long review, i looked at my other reviews, most of the was well over that limit and i wanted to know why this one was so much longer. The answer was that i was comparing it to season one, so to comprise on the high word count, I took half of the character part out and put limits on each part, only 200 words max each part. The character part just went pass that limit but was under 300 words so i think thats fine. I did this to show you Gru-Senpai that i not giving up on this like i did with Chaos;head and i going to keep trying my hardest to make the best reviews i can do, and even try to push pass that to make them even better. Anyway here it is my review. V.2 It is advisable to read this review after seeing the first season of Seitokai no Ichizon. Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 is a very enjoyable anime with a good comedy and some heart-warming moments. But let’s see if it is different from the first season. Student Council's Discretion (Seitokai no Ichizon) has the following genres: comedy, parody, school and harem. The anime is based on the light novel by Aoi Sekina and Kira Inugami; the show was produced by AIC; it aired between October 13, 2012 and December 15, 2012. The anime has 10 episodes in total. Story-line (7/10) Just like in the first season of Seitokai no Ichizon, the second season doesn’t have a story-line, because all episodes aren’t connected and the events of one episode don’t add much to the next episode. But unlike the first season, most episodes of the second season have more scenes taking place outside of the student council’s room, which was made in an attempt to make the second different from the first season. The story-line continues from where the first season ended with only 6 more months until the graduation day, with Kurimu and Chizuru graduating, and Minatsu and Mafuyu moving schools, leaving Ken with the task of creating his harem much harder to accomplish. So, throughout the second season, Ken tries to make the four girls happy and to show them how much he loves them. The comedy part in the second season was somewhat weaker than in the first season; yet, the character development received much more attention than in the first season. But for some reason the interaction between the characters felt forced and unfeasible. Art (8/10) Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 uses a very similar art style to the first season, with the only noticeable change being the use of brighter colors and a smoother look to the animation, which made the show more attractive to the viewer. Another difference was that the student council room was different from what it was in the first season. In Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2, more time was given to scenes outside the student council’s room, which was interesting, since they showed other places including Ken’s room. This gave the viewer something new, instead of keeping them just in the student council room and in that room only, which season 1 did most of the time. This also allowed the viewer to see other parts of the characters’ lives outside the student council room. All in all, the characters still look well-designed and pleasing to look at just like in the first season. Sound (8/10) Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 captured the same feeling with the music like the first season did. The new opening for Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 gave a nice feeling with its soft and cute vocals, while the ending unlike the first season, was sung by the female singers. The background music still sounded well and each musical piece fitted the mood of what the characters were taking about. The voice actors/actresses still did one hell of a job voicing their characters, except for Chizuru and Mafuyu, because they was given new voices. While Mafuyu’s voice actress was as good as her voice actress in the first season, Chizuru’s voice actress on the other hand, failed to be as good as her voice actress in the first season. Characters (9/10) The anime follows five members of the student council at Hekiyou Academy. --Kurimu Sakurano, voiced by Mariko Honda (Yuuko Aioi from Nichijou and Mazinger Z from Robot Girls Z) - is a child-like president of the student council, who acts somewhat childish and loves sweets. At the beginning of nearly every episode she writes briefings on a white board. In season 1, Ken revealed that he met Kurimu in the spring, while helping her carry boxes. --Chizuru Akaba, voiced by Yuka Saitou (Mira from High School DxD and Ritsu Kisaragi from Kiniro no Corda: Blue♪Sky) - is a sadistic secretary, who loves Kurimu and is always trying to cuddle and abuse her. Ken met her in the autumn, while he was suffering from a broken heart by the two girls he loved. --Minatsu Shiina, voiced by Misuzu Togashi (Origami Tobiichi from Date a Live and Yukiteru Amano from Mirai Nikki) - is a tomboyish vice-president, who loves shounen to a point that most of her suggestions are based on them. Ken met Minatsu in the summer. --Mafuyu Shiina, voiced by Yuki Horinaka - is Minatsu’s little sister and the club’s treasurer. She is addicted to video games and loves BL novels. Ken met Mafuyu in the winter in an online chat room. --Ken Sugisaki, voiced by Takashi Kondou (Hibiki Laytis from Fairy Tail and Takumi Kaizu from _Summer) - is the valedictorian, or “blue chip” seat of the student council, because of being the highest scoring student. He loves to play eroge and bishoujo games. He dreams and plans to make the rest of the student council members his harem. Enjoyment (8/10) Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2, while felt to me weaker than the first season, was still enjoyable to. The story was still fun and had some funny moments, but had a bit more serious feel to it compared to the first season, where it was way more focus on the comedy. The art was still pleasing to look at and the sound still delivery the same feeling, apart from two things. First, most the ending songs didn’t give me the same feelings like the ones in the first season did and second, Chizuru’s new actress couldn’t give me the same feeling that the old one did, especially in the sadistic scenes. Overall (8/10) Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 suffers from what happens in some sequels, it gets overshadow by its prequel. While it was still enjoyable, it just fails to match the first season because of the comedy being weaker to make room for character development that feels forced. The art has been improved and gives viewers new and interesting things to see. The sound as both improved and not, while the opening song and the new voice for Mafuyu are welcome improvements, most of the ending songs and Chizuru’s new voice just doesn’t deliver the same affect and feels like a step backwards. But even with these facts, if you enjoyed Seitokai no Ichizon, then Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 gives you a lovely and nice ending to the story but the journey doesn’t feel as filling as Seitokai no Ichizon was. |

So while Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 wasn’t able to deliver the same feelings as season 1 did, it’s still an enjoyable show to watch and if you like Seitokai no Ichizon, then I recommend watching Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 to see the rest of the story. Read it one more time, see if there is anything you can do and only after that you can publish it. [spoiler] It is advisable to read this review after seeing the first season of Seitokai no Ichizon. While Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 was still enjoyable to watch, it just wasn’t able to match with the first season. This desire to spend enough time on the characters’ development only ruined the second season. Did they want to make a good comedy, or perhaps did they want to make something more than a romantic comedy? That is the question I can’t answer. All in all, if you didn’t like the first season, there is no reason for you to watch the second. It is not an eye-candy, it is a show, which will help you to chuckle and just to kill your free time. Give it a try! |

What kind of a review thread is this? Just curious since I thought it would be a thread where people would leave their reviews about a particular show and then the others will comment their opinion on it. But from these last few posts, it seems like it's a thread where your MAL reviews are reviewed. |

Hi Inferno, i use this tread to have Gru-Senpai, Speakss-San or anyone really to proofread and to help improve my reviews as i not super good at typing. While i don't put names of users that help make the reviews in the review itself, i do put their names everywhere i post a link to the review and in the blog posts i make when a review goes up. So see this tread as a place to get help to improve your reviews and to post links to your reviews. When i got time later i give your reviews a read and leave my opinion about them here. Anyway it is nice to meet you. |

Maybe just people downvote trolling or something I think you dont understand how MAL review system works. The major reasons for downvotes could be: 1. The user voting doesnt agree with the overall score. 2. The review was bad. This includes all types of thimgs such as grammatical mistakes and such. 3. There were too many points in the review the user voting doesnt agree with. 4. Over praising/criticizing somethimg which wasnt too good/bad. 5. The user just feels like downvoting for fun. In those, I think Seto's review probably falls in either the first or third category. |

Hey. This isn't a proper objective one, just a mini review I made when a friend asked why I liked Plastic Memories so much. I have never reviewed anything fully, only a few parting impression sentences in my anime list when I finish a show. Hopefully someone will read and give the show a shot, I don't know. Here: Plastic Memories is beautiful. Besides the emotions it tries to bring out of you it will make you think "Am I using my time like I should be?" This anime is not perfect but from the first episode you can see that it was made to tug your feels. Some people cried, I did, some people didn't and that's okay. In between those moments of sadness there are some lighthearted moments. Some people think that the comedy got in the way of the sadness but I thought it was used effectively. With the job that the characters have, they have to try and be a little funny or they would easily all be a group of clinically depressed people. What surprised me the most and is the best part of the anime is the romance. I saw probably more great romance in 5 episodes than I have in full 24-episode pure romance anime. It was very well done. I didn't feel like it was rushed at all. Don't expect Plastic Memories to be unpredictable. In fact, give it a couple of episodes and you will probably see how it's going to end. But this anime isn't really about the ending, it's more about the journey. And when you hit the end, even though you saw it coming and you've been prepared, you might find yourself still shedding a little tear. It's worth watching but that's just me. My advice is to stick with it. Tell me what you think sometime. |

So here we are, the start of the project, yesterday i watch Nekomonogatari: Kuro and wrote the draft today. So here how this project is going to work incase someone doesn't know. Once i posted a draft, the next free day i have, i will watch the next one. This will continue until i watch and wrote all the drafts. Then i will spend time on days i writing the drafts to make any changes to the ones already posted here. While i not putting the any up until the first week of September, They will only be going up one a week and on weeks i haven't got the time to watch anime that week. So here is Nekomonogatari: Kuro review and next up will be Bakemonogatari draft on Thursday. Nekomonogatari: Kuro Disclaimer This is part of the Monogatari series summer project. Nekomonogatari: Kuro is a very interesting anime to watch with its good use of comedy, romance and supernatural. Nekomonogatari: Kuro is a romance, comedy, supernatural anime based of the novel; Monogatari Series: First Season created by Isin Nisio and Vofan. Shaft produced the anime and was aired on 31th of December 2012 as four episodes. It’s the second chronological in the Monogatari series but was release after Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari. Story-line (9/10) Nekomonogatari: Kuro’s story follows Koyomi Araragi, a student who survived an attack by a vampire recently with his friend Tsubasa Hanekawa helping him. Koyomi finds out about an Oddity (A phenomenon that can be a non-living thing or a paranormal entity, Gods and monsters are classed as an oddity) called the Curse Cat and learns that Tsubasa is in danger, so he has to find a way to get rid of the Curse Cat and save his friend. The story is very well written and always finds a way to get the viewer to find out what happens with its twists and turns. Its blend of comedy, romance and supernatural is the right balance as it doesn’t give the viewer too little or too much of any them. Art (9/10) Nekomonogatari: Kuro use a mix of types of art styles from quick sketch to beautiful drawn artwork to create a very creative animation. To help create this, its uses a very colourful blend of colours to bring it to life for the viewer. The each location and character has been made with care and are wonderful to look at. Each location is easy to recognisable and each character has a unique look to them, making it easy for the viewer to tell which character they are. Sound (9/10) Nekomonogatari: Kuro’s background music has been well made as each piece fits each it scene quite well. The opening theme at the start of episode one, Perfect slumber sung by Yui Hoire and the ending theme at the end of episode four, Kieru Daydream sung by Marina Kawano. Both of these songs are well sung, with the opening theme’s soft vocals and slow beat, while ending theme has a fast pace and a more powerful feelings thanks to the singer. The voices of each character sounds great and able bring each of them to life to the viewer. Characters (10/10) Nekomonogatari: Kuro focus on Koyomi Araragi and Tsubasa Hanekawa; Koyomi Araragi - voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya – He is a third year high school student that was attacked by a vampire during spring break and was turning into a vampire. He was able to turn back to being human but with some side effects. In Nekomonogatari: Kuro, he is struggling to understand if he loves Tsubasa after she help him out over the spring break. Tsubasa Hanekawa – Voiced by Yui Horie – She is Koyomi’s classmate and class representative. She is an oddity specialist, known how each one works and how to beat them. In Nekomonogatari: Kuro, she suffering from stress and falls in danger when the Curse Cat appears. Enjoyment (9/10) Nekomonogatari: Kuro is an anime that while being only 4 episodes long, it is very interesting. With its balances it comedy scenes to the supernatural ones with a touch of some romantic scenes quite well. Its unique art style a nice thing, mix different types of art together and making it work is impressive. While the most of the music isn’t something to write home about, there are some songs like the op and ed are great to listen to as they captures the feel of the show. The voice work sounds great as each voice brings it character to life to the viewer. The characters themselves are very interesting as they drawn the viewer in, making them want to know more about them. The message that Nekomonogatari: Kuro gives this; some things we see maybe not what it seems. Overall (9/10) Nekomonogatari: Kuro is a great start to the Monogatari series as it introduces few of the main characters and gives viewers a quick glance at what the rest of the series has in store. While it Quick anime, only four episodes long, it does a good job explaining things to newcomers to the series. So if you are a veteran of the series or a newcomer to it, Nekomonogatari: Kuro is a great short anime to watch. |

The story has been well made as each case is interesting and has twist and turns that will take the viewer by surprise at times. This storyline does not give the series justice. I would like to see more meat to it or at least make it more interesting to read Art (10/10) Bakemonogatari uses an animation style that is created from quick sketches to beautifully drawn artwork and a blend of dark and light colours to create a unique and creative animation for the viewer. The scenery in the show has been beautifully created and each are easily recognizable to the viewer. Each character has been given a unique look to make it easy to tell the characters apart. Add your thoughts on the camera angles used. Monogatari is a lot of symbolic camera angling and body movement to direct the eyes to particular parts of the scene. Sound (10/10) Bakemonogatari’s soundtrack is amazing and its use in the show is well done. Each background song fits great with that is on screen at the time. Each case has a different opening song, Staple Stable by Chiwa Satio, Kearimichi by Emiri Katou, Ambivalent World by Miyuki Sawashiro, Ren’ai Circulation by Kana Hanazawa and Sugar Sweet Nightmare by Yui Horie. Each opening has lyrics to fit its case and helps the viewer understand the feelings of each person the cases involved. The voice for each character sounds great and interesting as each voice displays powerful emotions in them. Good job. This was written fine in my opinion Characters (10/10) Bakemonogatari follows Koyomi Araragi and Hitagi Senjoughara as main characters. Not true. This series follows Araragi and all 4 girls, in each arc. Re-word this. Koyomi Araragi was voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. He is a third year high school student that was attacked by a vampire during the spring break and was turned into a vampire. He was able to turn back to being a human; however, he still has some of his abilities from the past. He meets Hitagi when she just falls into his arms and finds out she weights nothing. He goes out of his way to help her cure her weight problem. Hitagi Senjoughara was voiced by Chiwa Saitou. She is in the same class as Koyomi and has a disease that seen to be incurable. The so called disease leaves her weightless and she hides it from everyone. By accident, Koyomi finds out and offers to help, which starts a life changing experience for her. these two character sections are fine. However, you don't touch on any other main character in the series. Were you doing this on purpose? or just being lazy? Enjoyment (10/10) Bakemonogatari is anime that has an interesting story. Its art style amazes the viewer with its unique art style, animation, and display. Its soundtrack displays an array of emotions in its music as each op is great to listen to. The characters are really interesting as they each have unique personalities and connection to each other. Bakemonogatari’s message it gives the viewer is “The only one who can save you, is yourself”. Overall (10/10) Bakemonogatari is a great anime, it story is one of the most interesting ones out there. Well here Nisemonogatari, i just taking about a hour break then i starting to write Monogartai Second Season next. Recommend to have watch or read a review of Bakemonogatari as there is references and this is a continuation of the series. Nisemonogatari is a mystery, comedy, supernatural anime based on the novel; Monogatari Series: First Season, which was created by Isin Nisio and Vofan. Shaft produced the anime. The anime has 11 episodes and aired on January 8, 2012 to March 18, 2012 Storyline (9/10) Nisemonogatari focus on two cases involving Koyomi Araragi’s two younger sisters, Karen and Tsukihi. In Karen’s case, she is investigating the person behind the charms that has been given to students in middle school and the one used to curse Nadeko. She finds them but ends up getting cursed herself. Koyomi finds out what happen to her and sets out to save his sister from the curse. In Tsukihi’s case, she becomes a target by a group because of a secret about her. Koyomi faces the group to find a secret that will changes what he knows about Tsukihi. Nisemonogatari carries on the Monogatari series feel with its twist and turns to surprise the viewer time and again. Art (10/10) Nisemonogatari uses the same animation style as Bakemonogatari, its blend of dark and light colours, and use of quick sketches to amazing artwork to create one of unique and creative animation. Nisemonogatari carries on the Monogatari series use of camera angles but focus a bit on the fanservice side of scenes this time around. While it is still used for symbolic reasons, it just doesn’t give the same impact it did in Bakemonogatari. Sound (10/10) Nisemonogatari’s soundtrack is great and delivers the same feelings from Bakemonogatari’s soundtrack. The show uses three opening songs, Futakotome by Chiwa Satio (Ep 1,3), Marshmallow Justice by Eri Kitamura (Ep 2, 4-7) and Hakkin Disco by Yuka Igychi (Ep 8-11). The ending song, Naisho No Hanashi is done by ClariS. The Voices of characters in the Bakemonogatari return with new ones. They still deliver the same great and interesting voices to show powerful emotions to the viewer. Characters (10/10) Nisemonogatari focus on Koyomi and his two sisters Karen and Tsukini. Koyomi Araragi, voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. After the events of Bakemonogatari, Shinobu, the vampire that bit him now lives in his shadow, is spending his summer holiday studying. The reason behind this is to enter college with his girlfriend, Hitagi Senjoughara. Karen Araragi, voiced by Eri Kitamura. She is oldest of the Koyomi’s sisters and with Tsukihi make up the Fire Sisters. She loves outdoor activities and thinks of herself, a hero of Justice. This with her being hot-headed ends up getting curse. Tsukini Araragi, voiced by Yuka Iguchi. She is the youngest of the Koyomi’ sisters. Unlike Karen, she likes indoor activities and to Koyomi, she is scarier than Karen because of her being short-tempered. She uses Karen vision of justice, so she can run wild. Enjoyment (9/10) Nisemonogatari is enjoyable for fans of Bakemonogatari, with its story that has its up and downs. The art style still is impressive to watch and the returning characters are still interesting to watch with new ones not failing to get the viewers’ attention. The sounds are great to listen to and overall it is an enjoyable show. But it has one weakness compare to Bakemonogatari, its focus on fanservice is a bit much. While I don’t mind fanservice, it has a feeling of being forced on the viewer in some scenes that Bakemonogatari never did. The message you can take from Nisemonogatari is, no matter how different people in your family are from you, they still your family that you love and take care of, be it younger sisters or older brothers. Overall (9/10) Nisemonogatari is an anime that tries to live up to its standards set by Bakemonogatari and while it does a very good job, it just falls short. While it still great show, just don’t expect to get the same feeling Bakemonogatari gave. But even with that, Nisemonogatari is still a great part of the Monogatari series, so I recommend anyone who like the series, to watch Nisemonogatari. |
