He never said that he wanted to help anyone else or play an antihero. He was striving to become the Eminence in Shadow from the start. And what is this “Eminence in Shadow” ? In the Anime … not even Cid new what he was trying to be … so you tell us what this means ? 🤔🤭😏 |

| ngl Cid is the carrier of this show lol, he's like Saitama fr, he's not shown enough in fights simply because he is the end of anyone he faces, plus him not taking himself seriously is exactly why i love him, he knows it's all nothing but roleplay even in life and death situations, he never wavers or bow down to any force and he stays the same Cid through and through. |

| Cid is a really fun character to watch but I get where you are coming from. The misunderstandings can sometimes be cringe and annoying because it hurts the girls. Not always though. In s2e11 when he made Rose watch her mom, it really triggered me. |
| Wouldn't this anime without Cid be like One Punch Man without Saitama? What would be the point of the show then? |

Well that's because the "Eminence in Shadow" is kind of like the Jung(-ian) collective unconscious in that it is a generalization of the tropes most commonly displayed by the characters who really control the scene and the plot. Characters like Mafia bosses, deities establishing fates for characters and even small scale tricksters.

I think you misunderstand me. When I say Cid carries the show I don't mean the story, I mean the show itself, the anime. Sure the story is progressed by the girls of shadow garden, but cid is what makes the show enjoyable. If you want the girls you already have a hundred shows in your arsenal for basic harem fantasy/isekai that exist, but cid makes the show unique and actually stand out.
Most of the people who love the show right now would not have if cid was not the main character.
