Love that the quality did not drop  AT ALL. Stellar voice acting,  usage of bgm, and pace. Yeah, this is gonna be generational.

The directing in this anime is so cinematic. It reminds me of the Kizumonogatari movies.  The cut into the ending and Kana's voice acting...  sheesh! This could be the best anime series in the last 10 years at least!  The ssound design is so good too..

im in love with this anime already...
I like that Aqua is overprotective for Ruby and he doesn't want her to be a Idol but seeing that she wants to be an idol so badly he lets her join there own family originations rather than a shady one.
do they still don't know who was who in there past life? nvm that i dont think they know. this was a good episode tho.

This is my opinion about episode 1 and 2, the first episode i was exited to watch and i enjoyed its was good story and i expected a good character development on new era characters like Aqua Hoshino and Ruby Hoshino in second episode its going to slowly die the character development and also story flow this anime series will going to slowly die and boring,,, What if going to be a happy and good story to the future episode..

So many people complaining it's slow, even other animes rated 9+ have slow episodes if they are in season 1 , season 1 is time of building , also unlike others I am glad they are not rushing to create dramatic moments every episode.

What a shame! I thought to myself that he asked the director in the last episode to train him to become the perfect actor, so he can enter in disguise into the entertainment industry to find his father/Ai's plotter and kill him but instead he trained to be a fucking youtube editor. Previous episode got me so hyped up now it shot all of my expectations down. Although I'm happy to see Aqua become a dark character.

With this episode finally we know how about the structure of the series: the two MCs will try to have different career paths in the entertainment world (they only share the production company) meanwhile Aqua will look for the culprit… This way better than the solo revenge path cause I’m more interested in the other subplots like Ruby idols career path. At the end we saw an old acquaintance

MC is super protective over his sister who he should presume to be a middle aged woman (since that's what she told him). How does that flow logically?

Also he's a fucking edge lord. He reminds me of Shirogane but without the goofiness to offset his Mary Sue moments

I knew this show was gonna be special when I saw Kana's name was a play on anna karina the actress. there's a lot of depth to these characters that a younger less mature viewer will never see.

calling a post-introductory episode clearly meant to set up the foundations and setting for the rest of the story by introducing plot elements that weren't in the prologue "boring".. yall cant be fr.

Of course, there was less action than in the first episode, don't expect a second "movie" lol. However, it accomplished perfectly what it had to do (basically introduce the situation, how ppl have changed, etc.. after the time skip teased ep 1), the OP and ED are great too (I love the OP's song which is called "Idol").

Ruby is beginning to look like a spitting image of her lovely late mother Ai and there's no stopping her desire to also be an idol. I'm glad that at least its with the same production team that her mom used since both Aqua and Miyako can keep a closer eye on her as I think, besides stalkers, other guys may try taking advantage of her.

This episode did feel emptier without Ai which I really thought was going to be the main character prior to her murder. I'm thinking the future of this series will be a mix of Ruby becoming an idol, Aqua eventually becoming an actor, and (hopefully) Aqua finding their father while pursuing their idol/acting dreams.

So this is how Oshi no Ko is?
A mix of "Batman with Wake Up, Girls"?

For you.

Among the anime I watched, there's no discussion, "technically" Oshi no Ko is among the very best, amazing execution but of course we have to consider it's advantage of a QUADRUPLE length episode, not with this second episode it's two episodes ahead in screen time over the others.

From your list, as much as I love Insomniacs mangá I can't praise it much.
First because it takes time to appreciate the qualities of that story, second because the execution is just average. It's just a bit rushed production to promote along with the live action movie. Did you noticed how the ending is just a "best moments" from the mangá?

Loafter on the other hand is just as good as Oshi no Ko, in text and in execution. It's just less bombastic.

I expect Oshi no Ko's score to drop a lot and that will confirm that i'm right.
Everyone hates edgy kids and idols.
Also that "mother momment" was so cringe, we can tell humor is not good.
It's just a matter of time, you'll see.

Why did we need the goofy ass Demon Slayer tier comedy between the movie director and Aqua? it was such an interesting serious moment that would have added more value to this, but they had to fucking dug a grave for it by shoving the director's mom into the scene THREE FUCKING TIMES for some stupid comic relief.

There was no need for this in the slightest, this really killed the episode for me. If they didn't do this, then maybe we wouldn't have such a jarring abrupt end of an episode.

episode 2 was just okay. after the banger cliffhanger the first episode left off on, i was hoping it would continuously be a fast-paced thriller/psychological, but this episode was mellow and slow. this might be just an episode for the two siblings' background as high schoolers though, and i expect it will pick up again later

dark edgy sis-con aqua is now animated!! can't wait to see that dude for 9 more eps. OP was so catchy and the ED is haunting yet, simply beautiful, def one of the best pair this year.

animation is top notch and they even animated the sparkles in the close up for kana, W overall. i can see the current 9.24 score dropping a lot tho, but that doesn't affect peak.

They might have minds of adults, but tendentially they still function as individuals of their physical age, with hormones and all that. Also, they are still siblings, share the same blood and grew up being very close to each other, with Aqua being able to understand how pure and kind Ruby is because he has the experiences of an adult. And do you remember how Aqua said that Ruby reminds him of Sarina, who he cared very much for? There are quite a few reason why he's so overprotective towards her. He simply cares about her, such things also happen between adults after all.

Ya Aqua going a little crazy over protective but I suppose it is somewhat justified. At the end of the day Ruby is going to be an idol but if it's under people he trusts then I guess it's all well enough.

Portrayed the manga source very well. And the opening and outro of the episode and anime were beyond average and good. It was exceptional and was one of the highlights of the episode since it was the first experience for the watcher of the anime.
