| Been more of a fan of duel wielding but that never helps... cough*darksouls*cough. I guess all the influence of Anime/Manga has made me favor the katana, specifically the Muramasa used in multiple series or Ken/Kagura's Micheal #12 / Micheal Revolution from Ga Rei and Ga Rei Zero. (The sheath is a kind of a ejector with a trigger that shoots out the blade somewhat long the lines of a gun which can increase the strength of a slash.) Though I'm not a fanatic or anything in real life nor do I exactly have anything in my house other than a few hunting rifles and bows... and hand guns... and hunting knifes... nvm. |

I don't think it would look badass no matter how well you wield it, since it just can't be used the way anime loves to, but the shape of the weapon itself makes it cool enough, and I almost always think of it first. Never would take one though, the things are not only unwieldy and unsuitably shaped, but also probably the heaviest melee weapon you could think of. I have no clue about guns, but if I had to choose a weapon to fight in a medieval setting with, I'd definitely pick a halberd (surprised nobody mentioned that). Great range, further amplified by my height, more striking power than a mace depending on how it is held, can also be used as a spear, and while a bit on the heavy side (compared to swords etc), it's easy to handle and straightforward in use. If the handle is iron, it can also parry, but with that range, most wouldn't get within striking distance anyway. Daggers are cool too, especially as a supplementary to a weapon that forces enemies to get as close as possible, though I surely wouldn't have the necessary coordination and skill to abuse the advantage. |
| Actually I have two favorite weapons.. I absolutely love the crossbow. Something about it is just awesome. Despite having to deal with constantly reloading bows, the crossbow seems extremely cool to me, so when someone uses it with such skill and power just blows my mind. My second favorite weapon is definitely the Katana. It's fast, sleek, and you can easily get the job done with it... |

| There is nothing quite so cool as a very good multi tool. Sure it doesn't make a great weapon in an obvious way, but you need to consider all the trouble you can cause with it. Also fond of the humble sledge hammer handle. Never needs to be reloaded, and it makes a nice sound when you take someone's head off with it. Oh and congrats to the OP for having the good taste to like the Sword of Truth series. |

| Swords are impractical in the modern era of guns and rifles. Don't let that shounen anime bullshit you into thinking that a sword can block bullets. And swords are still impractical in CQC. Sure it has more reach than a knife/dagger but you sacrifice speed. And speed is the most important thing in CQC to disarm your opponent. Needless to say, swords and guns are actually heavy AF IRL. Again, don't let shounen anime and Hollywood movies bullshit you into thinking that you can hold one with your arms extended wide without any problem. And for fuck's sake these Hollywood guys need to explain how you shoot without any ear protection. The sound of a rifle shot can easily exceed the threshold of pain for sound pressure. OP didn't say that I can't choose an armored vehicle.So I'm gonna go with: |
