Up until at least chuunin exam the pacing of the anime is quite tedious and I’m saying this as someone who loves og naruto as I grew up with it. Go with the manga, easy choice here, if you enjoy the manga then give the anime a try afterwards. Manga spares you of the filler as well lol. Unless you have a general strong preference towards anime, I say go with the manga, you get the better experience for a naruto first timer

Definitely watch the anime first to properly get into it,
Afterwards if you want you can read the manga aswell.
The anime is an experience of its own and what really attracts people.

i both watched it and read it, and personally, i find it both very attractive. if I had to recommend something, I would recommend watching naruto and reading shippudden.

Naruto music is a very big part of the experience, watch it but pull up a filler list and skip those episodes and maybe fast forward any episodes with not much happening

This is a good reasoning, i agree. I litteraly fell in love with soundtrack and theme songs in Naruto. It just completes the whole series. Can't imagine Naruto without it's catchy soundracks.

I haven’t read the manga but knowing the pacing, the manga would definitely be quicker to finish vs the anime.
The anime has so many fillers and as someone who’s seen every episode including all the fillers, it takes a whole lotta time.
The anime is a rlly good experience tho, the ost, animation, fight scenes, and the seiyuu are great too.
But Naruto is worth it, I’m a huge fan of both og and shippuden, and I’m actually planning to read it soon. And honestly, if you’re a binge watcher/reader, you’ll finish og in no time (esp if you skip fillers, which I didn’t do and I finished in a decent amount of time).

The Manga is much better overall. The artwork and paneling is fantastic and the anime is never able to capture it. Only watch the anime for certain fight scenes (which are fantastic) after reading the manga. The anime is good but it alters some things here and there and doesn’t fully capture the experience. I say this as someone who loves the anime and grew up with it, the anime has ups and downs but the manga is just very solid throughout. On the flip side, the anime had great animation and music, so it depends what’s important to you. If you care about color, animation and music, go with the anime. If you care about artwork, appreciation of art styles, better storytelling and pacing, go with the manga.

Agree with this, the manga presents a much better told version of the story but the animation in certain fights is definitely something you need to see. Also look up the ost and openings and endings, some of the absolute best Japanese music out there.

if you want the best overall experience and don't want to fully invest/ fanboy/girl watch it and skip fillers, if you start to really love it then watch filler eps although there are a lot

Watch the anime and then skip the filler. The music is a big part of it but the filler is unbearable. You can watch it as background noise but it’s hard to sit through. The manga is also really good but I’d recommend watching the anime first.

definitely watch the anime. It's music and VA is verrryy good. And people are dumb if they're saying Anime is bad cuz of fillers. You can easily skip filler episode by seeing which episodes are filler from naruto filler list website.

The only part where Anime gets very boring is the 4th Ninja War arc but that's like at the end of the series.

why are people acting as if skipping filler isn't possible. Is filler even problem in this age as the anime has ended and you can easily find filler lists in internet.

imo naruto is one of the animangas that should be consumed through the anime especially with the epic fights that can be really hype. If filler is an issue use a filler guide and skip it…

i think it also depends on how old u are. I was in love with the anime in my preteen and teen years, but i couldn't enjoy it that much if i'd start watching now. If u generally like battle shonen like for example HxH, MHA, Demon Slayer, Yu Yu Hakuso ect., you'll love Naruto too.

I definitely prefer the manga. Especially pre-shippuden since the anime is full of drawn out filler that you could read in just a couple chapters. Later on the anime is more worth watching but I'd say read up until Shippuden if anything.

It’s up to you, read it if you like to read, watch it if you want to watch it. If you watch it you can skip filler to save time, but I don’t think the filler is as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it’s obviously not going to be as good as the canon stuff, but Naruto’s filler flows well for the most part, watch it [the filler] if you got “all the time in the world”.
Honestly I would prefer it if people skipped filler and just admit that it takes to long to watch it because it takes up half of the show, but people skip filler because everybody else has high standards, and those that hop on the bandwagon of skipping filler all say it’s bad without giving it a shot. But that’s an entirely different topic.

if it wasn't for the hundreds of fillers and mixed fillers episodes, and the continuos flashbacks, i would day anime, but manga is faster to read and has good pace and drawings
