| One of the main reasons that I fell in love with S;G was it's comedy. Zero however, is way too serious, and Okabe's is almost a different character in it, so I'd say no? |
| Well I can see why you'd think that but I think Sg0 has pacing issues, it was very slow in the beginning and a bit rushed in the ending, I also think directing and execution was a lot better in original Steins Gate. Sg0 definitely did made me appreciate Steins Gate even more, because of how brilliantly everything connects together but I wouldn't say it is better than the original series. |

| Steins;Gate 0 is not a sequel or prequel to Steins;Gate in the traditional sense but more like a complementary piece to the original Steins;Gate. So it might as well be considered the same, that's what I think anyway. But that being said the anime version of S;G0 is disappointing compared to the original Visual Novel from 2015. There are a lot of unaddressed plotholes and simplified plotpoints that weighed down emotional moments, basically things that don't exist in the source material. I consider this to be a legitimate reason to dislike the anime adaptation of 0 even though personally I enjoyed it almost as much as the original 2011 anime with its movie which have their own inconsistencies and plotholes. |

Can you please tell me what are the plot holes and what are the things that arent in source material? Personally i like 0 more than the original one. So i wanna know. There are really too many to type about in short unfortunately. But I'll try my best. The anime of 0 differs wildly from the VN beyond the surface level and there's a reason for that which I'll get to. Spoilers for people who didn’t watch/read S;G Ig. There is an upcoming re-release of 0 titled Steins;Gate 0 Elite which might fix or even expand upon the flaws of the adaptation. It'll be similar to Steins;Gate Elite which is a visual novel but uses animation from the anime and original animation for unadapted routes. It aims to be the definitive version of the Steins;Gate 0 experience like its predecessor did but I heard the initial responses were mixed. I don't think it has a release date yet and it’s probably stuck in development hell like Anonymous;Code. If Tsukihime remake can resurrect from the dead I'm sure this can too. But since we recently got a confirmation for a true Steins;Gate successor this project might be scrapped or something. It’s hard to tell. Fun fact: Steins;??? (sequel to Steins;Gate with new cast and tentative name), Steins;Gate 0 Elite, and (re)reveal of Anonymous;Code were announced last year in October 25, 2020. I don't think we received any new information since then which makes me skeptical about their release. There's also a Hollywood adaptation of Steins;Gate which might never happen like most anime to English live action adaptations which never materialise like Your Name, Naruto, Attack on Titan etc. |

| Steins;Gate 0 is the reason why I love Steins;Gate, but it's not as good as the original one, some side characters are lack of introducing, the pacing is kinda slow at first and the directing is less sharply. Still love it but not in the same level as Steins;Gate |

| I think Steins Gate 0 is a great series, but just a good sequel. I thought the pacing was great, but the main problem is that if you think about it too hard, you realize it breaks some elements established in the original (like duplicating people or multiple timelines at the same time). It still was great mainly because it is Steins Gate and the new characters were really good. |
