I just watch channel four and realise just how shit non-animated TV is.

*switches on Channel four*

"next on channel four we have a program all about a man who aspired to be something completely mediocre-and failed, just like the rest of us. After that we continue our televised debate on the colour grey vs the colour beige."

well now that's plain stupid .-.

anyways, I have a ton of hobbies so anime never gets old xD and if I'm still not in the mood for it I'll just watch a film or a TV show instead :]

I've been in an anime slump on and off for the past six months. For me, I start getting the feeling that I've watched everything out there that's good, and so my options are to keep searching or rewatch old favorites. If I feel like doing neither, I just end up unhappy if I try watching anything. I don't have a lot of hobbies (can't play video games to save my life, for example), so without anime, I end up bored. Trying to get back into reading at this point.

the more you intake, the less you'll enjoy. kind of like if you stuff yourself with chocolate, it won't taste as sweet anymore after the third bar and you suddenly start feeling nauseous.

the same goes with anime because quite frankly, anime is not the most original medium and the more you watch, the more you'll realize it's pretty much all the same, so taking breaks is essential to enjoying anime.

I get bored easily so I'm not tired of it. Anime keeps me going. To live on without getting myself into trouble in real life.

I've been getting tired of anime and figure it's because I've just seen so damn much of it and the ease of access because of the Internet. I realized this after I start a series and start comparing it after the first 10 minutes of an episode. I try not to...but it's hard. Even newer art has lost its appeal.

I miss back when I first started out and each anime was "so cool" because I'd never seen anything like it end every series seemed so different from the next. And the only way to acquire anime was to buy it or borrow it. Oh yeah, and Cartoon Network. Like $30 per DVD with 3 eps days and boxsets didn't exist. (I don't really miss the spending money part <_< Actually it really sucked) And reading magazine articles to find out about series and word of mouth from anime friends.

I don't really know how to explain it properly. It just sucks and I hope I don't lose interest entirely in the next year or so~ Maybe it's just all this moe animu shit. Yeah. That's it.

Yup, I go through 3-4 month periods not watching anything. I think when I started watching anime/reading manga, there were hundreds of series to get into and now I've watched them all and have to find the obscure stuff, or (heaven forbid) resort to watching franchise anime with like 5 seasons of recap/new characters.

I think the hardest thing is knowing what I DONT like now. When I first got into anime, I didn't dislike anything, it was all open season. But now, I tend to steer clear of vampire stories/magical girls/dragon slaying/anything with a 'sacred sword'/kappas. Lol.

I'm in the middle of a similar slump, and have only been reading manga recently. Hope some good stuff comes out soon!

When you go for seasons and seasons with nothing but moeshit and fanservice, the thought of throwing in the towel is only beaten by a desire to watch an older series.

Nope never really happen to me, but I tend to rotate my anime. By this I mean I'll watch a serious one then a supper funny one and maybe watch some old anime. If I watched the same kind all the time I think I might get bored with them.

I had that feeling for a whole year ! Well at first it was forced cause of my parents who kept me away from comp for like 4-5 months so yeah but then as time passed , I gradually lost my urge to watch so even when I could , I either watched way too lil or nothing at all , even with manga . Then last easter I randomly had the urge to watch Katekyo Reborn out of nowhere and since then I haven't lost my will for anime !! hooray for that \o/

Yes, but it's generally because I'm in a bad mood and I can't enjoy fiction when I feel depressed.

I just watch anime when I feel like it, and I find that the best.

It usually happens after I've overdosed on anime and real-life responsibilities start catching up. But then all it takes is another good show to bring me back.

I have quite a few times, typically because I just didn't have time for it (juggling uni and night activities do that eventually, but night activities as in 'not drinking or clubbing or crap like that').

It's annoying since there's so much I need to rewatch and see again, but there's just not enough daylight hours.

It has happened to me...I once didn't watch anime for like 3 years!!! But it was because there was only one computer and my cursed sister was ALWAYS on her facebook or doing homework. I didn't have the time nor the privacy(I like my privacy for watching anime) and thus I sticked to just doing absolutely nothing and wasting my three years just staring at my brother play video games.(I was young in middle school) lol but now I'm in highschool and have my own laptop and stuff

Not realy. I do get very annoyed when i have to sift through all that anime that isn't so great and since i don't like dropping them or they have one intriguing concept i want to see to the end i usually end up dragging myself though them...but then you come across a masterpiece and you make yourself believe it was worth it :P

I think i just hit that point right now (just watched like 100 eps of Bleach). But I'll just played video games for like a week or so and be back watching like 15 eps a day in no time.

It's still rather minimal, and yea I have been watching pokémon. I find it interesting because Ash is a powerhouse hehe. I might watch Ping Pong in the near future though. I might have watched 48 hours of anime the last 4 years.
