Nice move of him, right? Now he is one step closer to being with Otonashi. I can really see that ship now.

QFT. Lol XD

Just a really boring, really lame episode. Comedy failed, drama failed, and I'm glad this is just 13 episodes. There isn't anything more to do after Yui's gone, and nothing's developed enough to sustain more episodes.

Somewhat agree. I thought the comedy was OK, but it IS getting kind of ... disappointing, I suppose. Paralysis ... what will come up next? Hinata was pretty good near the end of the episode, though ... but that whole marriage thing didn't do it for me. I kind of just want to get this show over with now >_<

Nice, touching, lil story. Don't know how I feel about this "make everyone fulfill their dreams" direction it is heading down. But from the preview of next wk's ep...looks like there will be some action, can't wait for that.

Why Hinata knows that Otonashi want to help his friends?

I thought only Otonashi and Tenshi know their plan..

Hinata got his dream ripped off twice: in life and in the afterlife. Maybe he's just done with it....

That was exactly my thoughts. "What if Kanade and Otonashi didn't disappear because they were actually dead?" That would be quite sad. :/

That was a brave move by Hinata, you could tell he really cared about her. But likely they'll never meet again. And I guess this show can't really go on without a real antagonist. Now we got dangerous anomalies running around. Someone's been f*cking with the Matrix, man!

Anyone else wonder why the title of this episode was called "Goodbye Days"? It reminded me of the song titled "Good-bye Days" by a singer called YUI. Ironic or planned?[ It's from Taiyou no Uta, a movie. You should check it out ;D ]

Funny that, I also thought of the singer YUI when I saw that title (although at the time I didn't connect the dots to the character Yui). Even if "Good-bye Days" hasn't been used in anything yet, that last song "Ichiban no Takaramono" suited better.

This was such a tearful episode, Yui was an awesome character, although it's clear that she's too childish to survive till the ultimate climax finale (like if they fight God or something). But having said that, it's clear that 13 episodes is too short for this anime.

Give the complexity of the characters and the world that they are in, they haven't really gone into depth with many of these elements. Like, we all loved this episode because of character development; of course, things were a bit hasty - especially with that last Hinata x Yui scene (uncalled for but okay), and would definitely love to see more of that sort of stuff between the other characters if they only had more episodes to do it all in.

I'm just really disappointed that they didn't capitalise on the SSS vs Angel in the first half of the series; they could've really gone further with all the evil Angel clones at the least. They wrapped up that segment in a single episode when the fight could've gone on heaps longer.

Still, hopefully they'll extend this to season 2 and make another 13 episodes (to balance it to 26) where at the end everyone passes on; it'd just be lame to have more than one character of the SSS pass on in one ep. How will it end by episode 13? It won't haha unless you want a lame ending.

You can say what you want about that, but it fully justifies her behavior. I thought that was actually really smart of them. I would behave exactly the same as Yui, if you were used to not being able to move and suddenly you can, heck I would know what to do. After this episode I gained a lot more respect for Yui.

Funny how revealing of character's past can change people's attitude towards them.

Unfotunately, in some interview(don't remember wich one ;/) Maeda said that Angel Beats! won't have a second season, or at least he won't write it. He also said that he didn't have any ideas for ending, and he's not pleased with final version of ending.
Basically, Mead won't make second season. Let's send him some death threats. ^^

I predict the reason why Otonashi didn't disappear was because he haven't fulfill his wish yet.. So, his wish was to be able to save people, right?! So.. After he "make" everyone disappear, he'll eventually disappear too knowing the fact that he actually helped someone to fulfill their wishes in order for them to see the light..

Well, that was actually my prediction and in my opinion it does sound sane to be true.. =P

Well, we can't be sure if Otonashi is dead. That Rescue team might have taken him to hospital, and for some reason he's in coma now. <-This somehow doesn't make sense... -_-

To think, that the annoying character becomes a loved and missed character. As expected of Jun Maeda. Such a great episode.

Though what does burn me up very much is that this is going to be only 13 episodes. Damn producers! Just end it in a cliff hanger and make a sequel!

Same goes for me, I'm gonna miss her v.v. It was nice to see things worked out for her though it makes me wonder if everyone is just in a coma and when they feel like they've fulfilled their dreams do they wake up? Well, it was weird that Yurippe and other members didn't detect anything... Well Yui is gone but I dun find it surprising. The last person to be gone should be Ootonashi...

Btw the scene after the song at the end was very confusing... I'm sure it's Angel's voice. I tot Yuri and Angel are enemies now? Plus what's with the familiar peace-crisis-peace-crisis order all over again?

;_;

<3333

I'm weeping. This is the most this series has made me cry so far.

I liked Yui to begin with, I feel like the series failed her up till now because she started off with potential but pretty much all her dialogue in the last few episodes has been her calling people idiots. (I love this show, but its running gags for the most part seriously suck.)

But this was great. I liked the whole episode, I thought the funny parts this episode were great too, especially every scene involving Kanade. Yui's backstory was sad but kept from being too melodramatic through the way she told it, and the end...;_; oh god the end! That was too lovely for words. Hinata and Yui were adorable<3

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this (I haven't read the rest of the thread because I know there'll be a lot of people being assholes and ruining my mood. Which, tbh, they have the right to do,although I can't really understand why someone who didn't like a series would watch it this long, but it's their choice.) but it never mentioned when she died, and she kept talking about her real life when she and Hinata were getting "married", so it made me think, maybe she slipped into a coma or something and her "moving on" was actually waking up in the real world?

Probably someone's already come to this conclusion. And it's already been debated. It has been 15 pages. XD

That confused me too - since I thought the point was that they're all dead.

I guess this is why this episodes spawned speculation on Hinata and Yui being together before they died - but I doubt it.

It seemed somehow VERY easy to resolve this marriage desire of hers, with a quick yet unfullfillable promise.

Im also curious as to how they're going to bring closure to the remaining characters in the next 3 episodes without drowning us in rushed melodramatic development - my guess is they're not :-)

Didn't you notice that they didn't show anyone dying? Iwasawa got to hospital, but they didn't show her being dead. Same goes to Otonashi, recue team arrived when he cloed his eyes, but no one confirmed that he died.
