What I've seen of Needless so far has been pretty snorefest as well as often annoying.
I'm a pretty big fan of slice of life, but K-On hasn't had a pacing that's drawn me in very well.
I know people are gonna hate me for this, but I couldn't get dragged into Aria very well yet either.
I respect Aria, because I don't need a lot going on and adore the slice of life genre. But it hasn't by any means grabbed me yet.
Both season one and two of Haruhi Suzumiya were incredibly boring. Or apparently it's called "2009".
Every Bakemonogatari episode that focuses on Senjougahara.
I like Xam'd, and it's nowhere near "most boring", but it had it's several minutes here and there when I was like :/
I'll admit, Shakugan no Shana also had quite a few momement. I ran on Rie Kugimiya and Hecate for that series.
Y'all gotta admit, the first Kara no Kyoukai movie was kinda "blah". It picked up, but it wasn't that entertaining.
Certain Higurashi no Naku Koro ni arcs were a bit boring.
The Yuri sections of Maria Holic were rather bland and unentertaining.

Errr, the older the anime, the more it resembles "Western" animation.
I respect the beautiful foundations of anime, Osamu, and love Cyborg009, Ronin Warriors, Ranma 1/2 and lots of others.
But I also realize the difference now between them is a gap in time and influence.
People are like "lol u anime fans who think it's superior, when it's back in the day all your anime was based on big eyed Disney character and Betty Boop stuff the West grew out of".
And for this reason, unless you're pro-Western animation, are best off praising the new Japanese animation to the old. Because the farther back you go, the more the quality and stylization are similar. In fact, like the pro-Western animation people say, American animation was once vastly superior to Japanese animation.
The problem is now, not so much...in my opinion.
I'm a fan of old Japanese animation a bit. As well as a fan of old American animation, especially stuff like Scooby Doo, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and other classics. I even have Little Nemo on my favorites list. But I also prefer newer anime. And I really don't like the majority of modern American Animation.
And I think it's natural for someone who is truly biased in favor of anime to prefer newer anime. I'm an ultra-biased weeaboo anime fan because I feel like I think anime makes some improvements pretty well every single year, while I have almost completely lost hope in the American animation industry.

Now THAT is very understandable. Good Lord.
I had a hard time getting up the mood to finish that too. And I wasn't even mesmerized by season one, but season two was just pathetic.

I have not seen anything more predictable and thus dull.
I loved Cowboy Bebop and found it very entertaining. But I'm happy to find someone who doesn't think it's OMG BEST CLASSIC EVAR. |
