Anime elitism is nice, its basically just anime which are not borind and they have more depth, the main ones that people seem to like in the anime elitism community may not be your taste, maybe you like ones which are outside it, utimately you decide and pick and choose.

And maybe elitism partially means something snobbish according to your opinion but check the first post of the creator of this forum what he meant by elitism before giving your own definition . Well you may like some elite shows and dislike some also liking some shonens (ones from 2000s and another ones from 80s I think). Maybe that makes you unique among the elites but still You're an elite. It js also another characteristic as one of the user added to this forum :- Liking older classic shows Now about the rating. No, he's right. People always push the same few titles, those popular among elitists. If the goal was to highlight hidden gems, they'd recommend the thousands of other titles you've probably never heard of.

| Is elitism even really a thing like it used to be any more? I mean I guess people will always rate shit like Monster and Berserk very highly but I barely see people act like they're better then other weebs for having those in their favs. Probably because anyone can look at a Top 100 manga rating on MAL, AniList etc and find these at the very top so it's not really an elitist thing when you happen to think the widely accepted opinion of best ever manga is Monster, Berserk, etc... Either that or most people just realize the idea of elitism was always fuckin stupid. The only other somewhat related idiotic shit I see in relation to this topic is FMA fans going into a frenzy because some anime took it's top spot on MALs rankings. Anyway I miss the days when Hunter x Hunter was considered an elitist anime when it's just as shonen as any other shonen out there. Now some people seriously think One Piece of all things is the gold standard (lol) |
