The studio art direction really did the characters dirty in this one. The webtoon had such a specific title that the show seems to have just tossed in favor of much more generic looking anime characters. |

This looks like it will be an interesting series. I could already see in the opening that there were references to several types of games, not just mmos and rpgs. Also the game that Sam made looks like the type of game I would really enjoy. Also that lets player reviewed this game as though he was playing a completely different game. The game even has 'puzzle adventure' under the title and its clear that this game leans a bit further towards the puzzle end of the spectrum |

I liked the art style, but the company culture at her workplace felt a bit strange (OK, im neither Japanese nor US-American). Looking forward to how the plot will develop. |

I didn't read the webtoon so maybe I will be more lenient but, aside from the animation, I think it has the potential to be a good anime. |

Firstly, I don't like the art style and animation; it's just not consistent and looks off the whole time. This opening episode didn't grab my attention at all, and the characters are drawn half-assed. Personally, I thought this was going to be much more lively and comedic as I went into this blind, not knowing the webtoon, so I'm quite disappointed there. Let's see if it improves my opinion a little bit by the next episode. |

There's a comedy tag but I'm not sure the comedic scenes worked or there was one at all...

@Pear-san Wasn't s3 done already? Last I remember we had s3 final chapter on webtoon. Are you talking about s4? But either way it's nice if she continued it.
@MegamiRem i just looked at the creator's IG again it turns out that the series will start s4 as soon as the anime ends |

for some reason, the character designs look better than that of the web comic even though I didn't really read it. |

When I heard the premier I got so excited. It was my first webtoon reading experience and I really loved it. But the direction in anime isn’t good, it lacks the essence; plus soundtrack could be better. I think if they fix some of it, it'd be a great rom-com. |

I thought I was in the mood for something shit, but I guess I was mistaken. I can forgive bad art, but there's nothing else here. Not much to say that hasn't already been said. I don't mind the main character's design though. Maybe I should watch another episode, but I don't mind having one less show to watch this season. |

@DDR1327 that sums up my thoughts as well. i think they tried to mix the western and eastern parts and its a miss on both ends. the joke characters are just abysmal and the normal characters seem flat as hell as best. not to mention the direction of the webtoon and the implication of the looks of the anime.. |

Not to sound like a cyberbully, but this is the most room temperature IQ complaint I've ever seen on this hellforum.
It's set in Los Angeles because that's the setting in the source material.
Everyone's speaking Japanese because it's a Japanese anime adaptation made for a primarily Japanese audience.
HOPE THIS HELPS, GIRLYPOP. :))))
@FutoiOtaku
I personally find the setting stupid, why L.A. with everyone speaking Japanese?

You really think you proved anything there apart from your own under 70 IQ? Did you actually explain why the source material of an anime was set in LA? I know the author is actually American but it still makes no sense. When remaking a webcomic as anime it is quite normal to relocate it to Japan. Your spiteful little flex fails to answer this query, just evidence of a small minded person lashing out for self validation. Hope you feel better now Hun 😊
@FutoiOtaku FutoiOtaku said: When remaking a webcomic as anime it is quite normal to relocate it to Japan. No the hell it isn't, you absolute tourist. There are metric tons of anime adaptations set in countries outside of Japan. Keeping the setting the same as the material being adapted is the norm, not the exception. FutoiOtaku said: Did you actually explain why the source material of an anime was set in LA? I shouldn't have to! It's goddamn obvious! The webcomic did well enough in Japan to justify an adaptation and they kept the setting for authenticity! It would be obvious to you, too, if you had an ounce of grey matter between your ears, hun. |

first episode incredibly boring. i'd drop but i'll give it a last chance with the second episode to see a bit more of her dynamic with the guy neighbor. i really like enemies to lover's trope and i thought this could develop in that way...but this felt SO boring😭and the characters aren't really likeable..like if i had to choose someone im choosing the dog. another thing, apparently the guy is a famous gamer but after failing the game for playing like 2 seconds and without even bothering to read about it, he claims it's the worst game he's ever played? has he considered maybe he's just too stupid? i don't see a famous gamer doing that. ALSOOOO after she saw his reaction to the game she was like, my career is over. what? the game had great reviews, a stupid ass youtuber and his stupid following who couldn't understand the game wont ruin your career. ill come back if i remember something else to complain about |

@Haunt88 I mean it's hard to be spatially aware when you're being eye molested and aggressively tortured, I mean flirted with while you're just doing your job. He even paid for her clothes to be cleaned and apologized... |

@LordKylington >eye molested that's not real in any world bro what are you talking about >aggressively tortured again, you're just inventing stuff >doing your job making a mess in someone's workplace is far from doing your job >paid for her clothes as he should, and if that was hot coffee that'll be third degree burns, this bum should at least serve a month in prison and if there's someone walking there and slipped hit their head and die, yeah that's just doing his job amirite >apologized so you do agree he was 100% in the wrong yet you're still tryna justify and defend him bruh, the flirty girl was also in the wrong but he can easily tell her that he's not interested but instead he chose to be a panicky useless moron |

Loved this one! It really is refreshing to see a story about more adult stuff but with this friendly anime approach rather than some of the isekai generic trash I've seen going out this season. The designs look a little bit off, but I understand this comes from a webtoon rather than a manga, so I am assuming some design choices have to be made. Loved the OP references to other videogames too. I couldn't really tell what the message was -if any- behind the scene at the office. At first I thought it kind of harrasing he just took of his clothes and said that to Sam. But later it turned out to be that he was really caring for her and she also took it that way? When Papa came into the offiice I DIED lmao |

made it to the scene where Angela and Vikki walked into the cafe, saw how awkward and stiff they looked, saw "RAWR" on the one girls shirt and closed the tab. This show looks BAD. Environments are choppy, characters look weird and off model despite not even being on screen yet to compare to anything, and it feels like someone is describing gaming/game creation/streamers very poorly. I'll be honest, I don't want to finish the first episode so take that into account but I also do enjoy my regular dose of seasonal garbage. |

I'm a non-reader, just found out about the series today and as I predicted I was correct, it is indeed a webtoon so no wonder the storytelling is like this. Had to say, I don't find this anime is bad and the animation is just OLM things since Tonbo was also quite bad animation wise but the anime itself was great. So yeah, I don't understand the hate and it seems forced, all of the characters looks good to me ngl. I'll keep watching it at least until Ep.3 but once again, I'm not a reader. And to me, the equivalent of this anime would be Bokura no Ameiro Protocol, it has the same "Nothingburger" and bad visuals but still engaging enough to watch until the end especially for a SoL anime. |

the animation style sure is different then what we generally get, the story is unpredictable rn cus of no actual source of story but the first ep ending made it clear that the story is sure to be chaotic |
