And it's mostly the overall pacing, padding, etcetera.

And Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, infamously Dressrosa, etcetera are all just pretty infamous for it, lol.

Yes, I've heard about the 2nd paragraph.

And on the whole, it was probably, among other things, simply false info that was spread by some people.

And that got pretty overblown.

The same thing also happened when Toei announced and made their last break.

A LOT of people automatically thought/ASSUMED that the pacing (and some other problems) of the overall anime adaption would get better. (me partly included 🫣😅🫠)

I actually now think this was/is a misunderstanding because of the fact that a lot of people made assumptions at that time, and those/these assumptions just got spread that much/ have become widespread.

And by the time the anime came back from its break, it was already too late.

I personally find it quite dated and jarring. I sometimes do think that it fits the show, but at others it’s really distracting. A problem I have with it is that they’re usually not timed well, especially when there’s a lot of motion happening on screen. They’re also very overused and don’t rly match what the scene is trying to deliver.
