This season has been a disappointment for me. I was looking forward to another season since I thought we would finally get more focus on Sakuta and Mai's relationship now that they are in college. Instead in most episodes Daddy Sakuta is helping out some random high school girl and he has deeper interactions with them than his own girlfriend. They also keep teasing with Sakuta and Mai's relationship. Every time it has a chance to progress it gets derailed by something. That something also usually results in Sakuta having to go an a date with a new girl too. Missed opportunity to just have them work together to help people with Puberty Syndrome. I feel bad for Mai as this show is basically a harem at this point.

Really surprised this still has a higher MAL score than the first season even if due to sequel bias. It looks like its not going to get better after this episode and is getting repetitive. Himeji is another random girl Sakuta is going to help at the expense of his own relationship. This episode also made me realize the character designs are bad since a lot of the girls have the same design with minor changes. Its actually hard to tell them apart at times like Mai and the Santa girl.

Maybe it’s just a me thing, but I feel like the people complaining about the characters looking like Mai don’t look like her at all, but all that aside he better not cancel that damn date with Mai. let them have their moment please 🙏

How many times have sakuta and mai's dates been canceled in this season?
@Alvince0439 three, if you count concert date as a bust...

It's an annoying trend of this season that every single Mai x Sakuta interaction/date is either interrupted by another random girl, or outright cancelled to keep the plot progressing. Mai and Sakuta's romantic chemistry and overall relationship is one of the strongest parts of this entire franchise, but this season is helbent on shoving that aside to force the uninteresting new characters into the spotlight instead. I think I'm going to lose it if I see the words "keep your schedule open" again, because I know full damn well that whatever plans Mai and Sakuta make won't happen because we need to focus on another uninteresting side character instead (this episode provided no real context for who Himeji is or why the hell we should take any interest in her beyond her having an unspecified type of Puberty Syndrome).

Also, this show's character design is absolutely awful at this point, such that you can barely tell who is who (particularly with the many new characters this season is throwing at us). Eye colour aside, Touko looks more or less identical to Mai and Akagi just looks like a short-hair version of Mai. It just makes things needlessly confusing when these characters simply aren't visually distinct enough from each other.
@Atavistic because himeji's puberty syndrome later revealed can make her read other's mind whose she make physical contact with (quantum entanglement). This ability can help sakuta to figuring what on santa's mind and what she is planning. But it is not going according to plan.......

A sneak peak at rascal doesnot dream light novel vol 15:

"I remember... April 10th..."

Akagi said while turning towards the pink bunny suit guy (sakuta from different alternate world).

"Happy birthday, Azusagawa Sakuta. Today, you turn twenty years old."

The bunny suit guy clapped their hands in celebration of Sakuta's birthday. However, the applause and congratulations felt hollow.

There's nothing to celebrate.

Only confusion filled his heart.

Everything Sakuta believed in had now been completely rejected. semua

Sakuta wanted to argue.

But he couldn't find the right words.

The rational part of his mind held back the storm of emotions inside him.

He didn't accept what pink bunny suit guy said.

But he began to understand the logic behind it.

When it comes down to it - what exactly is Puberty Syndrome?

Sakuta asked himself, and then answered:

It was something like an illusion, caused by the emotional instability of adolescence.

This is a condition that will disappear once you grow up.

Something that eventually has to end.

Sakuta realized that he had reached an age where it was time to end it.

The realization filled him with anxiety.

At that moment, car lights lit up the park.

bunny suit guy and Akagi looked at the car.

Only Sakuta remained silent.

The engine stopped immediately. But unlike Sakuta expected, the car didn't drive away-it stopped nearby.

Then the sound of a car door opening was heard.

Followed by the sound of the door closing.

And footsteps approaching him.

"Sakuta?"

A voice called his name from behind

Sakuta turned his head and looked up.

And there, at the entrance to the park, was Mai.

"What are you doing here?"

Beautiful Mai 🫰✨✨😻
How dare Azusagawa would dream of a date with Himeji when he has such a thoughtful and beautiful girlfriend !?
So Himeji's Shisunki Shokogun is making all the guys fall for her which she got it after a heartbreak that happened with her crush. I think we see him in the op.
Kirishima is really terrifying behind all that smile She's cunning and enjoying giving people their puberty syndrome and she's enjoying her own Puberty syndrome as well.

I love how casually they talk about buying their engagement ring together next time they go back to the shop.
Even though mai cant spend time with sakuta on her birthday she makes the most she can and being understand & supportive at the same time while sakuta caring over the top for her. Moments like these are rare in this season truly.
Their relationsip always is just a joy to watch. A realistic balance.

Things are getting complicated af. Kirishima is being too unhinged just gifting out puberty syndrome chaos like the santa clause she is.

Sakutas struggling honestly but hes regaining back slowly by studying the conditions and logic behind the syndromes. Bro needs to clutch up. Science bitch!

I’m curious why Touko Kirishima can be invisible, yet still sing and have her voice heard by others.
It’s also strange how she’s able to give puberty syndrome to other people.

Honestly, the sweetest moment was when Sakuta bought a ring for Mai. But even then, Mai had to push him a little. She’s incredibly patient, even when Sakuta cancels their date because Touko Kirishima asked to meet.

Another annoying thing is that even when Mai and Sakuta planned to go on a hot spring trip, they still got interrupted by Himeji’s puberty syndrome problem.

Please, let this stop already. It’s enough that Sakuta has to keep acting like a psychologist for everyone else’s mental issues.
I just want to see Mai and Sakuta enjoying their happy moments together for longer.

All in all a good episode. To she Sakuta and Futuba speaking about Santa Claus / Kirishima Touko is a nice callback to the first season. In the further course of the episode, Sakuta gets premonitions of future events, all of which revolve around Sara Himeji. She later enters his tutoring class and she is alredy aware of her puperty syndrome. Before that, a nice moment between Futuba and her student is shown, who continues to express interest in her. Later, Sakuta receives a call from Kirishima Touko, but their meeting unfortunately falls on the same day as his date with Mai-san. The latter is first very sad, but she got a good idea and traveled with Sakuta to a Jeweler, where he bought her a ring for her birthday. Hopefully they will soon return so buy some nice engagement rings (because they deserve to strongly be happy).

Sakutas meeting with Kirishima is first very cold, with him only getting the conclusion that her songs cause the puperty syndrome in other people (and at least she told him the date of her next song). Unfortunelly, he cannot chance her bad opinion on Mai-san and ist still interesting if he is able so save her (some flashbacks earlier about the accident at the first movie made me sad). Later when he returned at home, he at least got some nice time with his girls, where Nodoka, Uzuki and Kaede leaved in order to win some time for the couple. Finally they could agree to some dates in the christmas time, which makes everyone happy. After another glimp into the future, Sakuta had at shift another funny antcounter with Tomoe Koga, before he goes on a meet with Sara Himeji. There both share they common future dreams and when she asked him to not solve her puperty syndrome, she also gives him a homework do to (that he will surely in the next episode). :D
