In the end, although he won, he turned into a gambler who could not leave it alone.
He even was given an ultimatum by the Girl, she lost too.
Still, i liked it for the most part.

RIP Daiba I guess... of course Ginya won in the end even though it was close, but seeing him cry in Yuri's arms like that was just sad.
Eh not bad overall for such a random anime, I mean it had a personality with the pachislot settings and I didn't mind the characters, good pacing as well I would say.

Daiba wasn't lying when he said it was a selfish request. Going driving with an incurable, terminal brain tumour was just asking for a traffic accident. Thought it was out of character for a moment, but Daiba was never portrayed as an especially moral person or anything, so it'd be disingenuous to project my own morals on him.

Definitely a fantastic anime; and one that has been buried far deeper than it deserves due to its limited animation quality, lack of merchandising, odd subject matter, and absence of any release outside of Japan. Virtually all of the characters with any meaningful amount of screentime (e.g. Ginya, Daiba, Yuri, Aoi, Oumi) had more than sufficient depth to their psychology, which is put into practice in how they play pachislo. Moreover, the conversations have a natural ebb and flow to them, seguing from topic to topic neatly, giving them the realistic flavour you'd expect from a grounded premise like this.

Not many real complaints on my part, as the series is bereft of any substantial flaws. A minor nitpick is how often Ginya yells like a retard with stunning regularity, or the glaringly obvious use of still frames throughout; but the latter can be excused, as it was animated by a rookie studio in the early digital era.

A thoughtful, unique watch that compensates for its deficiencies throughout. Can understand why others would perhaps afford it a lower score, as the characters aren't the most logical bunch at all times, but that imperfection isn't unusual of people in reality either.
