2025 Manga Reading Challenge - Discussion

Wait, is this regarding the one for the badge we're supposed to be getting at the end of May?

I'm currently reading the ongoing manga Veil for "read a colored manga", I have a question about the end date, do I just put the date I last read a chapter on or do I just leave it blank when I turn my challenge in? Thanks.

I'm looking for recommendations from MRC participants (doesn't have to be in my PTR and can be any lenght). I read all genres, but love anything with morally gray characters so those would be very welcome, but any recommendations are great. Thank you in advance! <3

I'd like to try reading a manga that's unranked for challenge #9.3 - El Barril - Read a manga that is not ranked. - Ranking must say N/A.
The problem is, I don't really know how or where to find anything like that. Searching the internet lead me to believe that yaoi and yuri series as well as doujinshi are supposed to be unranked, but no matter what manga I look at, it got a ranking on the site, even series that pop up on a google search where it says they're unranked, all actually do seem to have a ranking... do unranked series even exist anymore?

This is supposed to be about the "Ranked: #xyz" portion, isn't it? I have read a manga that got no score, even though it's old, but that's not what this challenge is about, or is it?

@Shiroponta I have a few not ranked BL on my list. For the challenge I used Copernicus no Kokyuu and Seikimatsu Tantei Club, but I can also remember 3-bansen no Campanella.

I think most BL and GL that are not ranked have at least the Erotica tag.

@Sen1793 Actually now that you mention it, I read a BL with the erotica tag and it actually isn't ranked, but I already used that for "read a manga of your least favorite genre", so I may have to read another one of those, unless I find something better. Thanks for the hint. Maybe I'll find something with the erotica tag that at least seems interesting.

Hi there! I need help/recommendations for these 2 prompts:

• 40 - El Alacran: Read a manga based on a one-shot.
  
• 48 - La Chalupa: Read a manga that started publishing in the month you joined MAL (any year).
  

For 40, I don't know of any manga based on a one-shot, and for 48, I joined on February but I'm having trouble finding Feb. releases. Any suggestions?

For 40, there's Yotsuba, based on this one shot.
There's also Rozen Maiden (2008) based from this one. I haven't read it, but apparently it's the second (or more like the future) of the original Rozen Maiden.
And finally, there's D. Gray-Man from this one shot.

That's all I can find from series that I know of so far ^ ^;

For 48, I recommend:

Hello! I would love some suggestions for the Staff & Participant Rec items!

I'd prefer something completed, and I enjoy Romance/BL, Action, Comedy, Strong Female Leads, and could probably use some shorter reads since I asked for this a little late in the year. You can also just recommend whatever you like, honestly - I'm not too picky in general, just please no ecchi.
